This specimen kit is just the right size for mounting any insect you might find. Given the cold weather right now my kids don't have anything to mount quite yet, but they are certainly looking forward to it. The kit itself has more than enough mounting pins and my kids really like that tweezers and scissors are included. Overall good quality item for a good price.

This is a great kit for studying and learning about various insects at the middle school to high school level. The kit can be used for a class project or for building an entomology reference for college students focusing on the study of insects. Overall, a simple kit that can end up as a nice display piece in the living room or office.

This is a nice-sized case for insect or even flower preservation. We found an intact dead dragonfly and wanted to display it and this works very well. It came with all the necessary tools/accessories and we were able to put some dried flowers in with it and it looks very nice. This does come with a LOT of pins so either you really get into this hobby or find something else to do with the pins?!

Loved that the shadow box is unpainted and has the specimen tools. Great reasonably priced gift for kids or even college age.

Our kids recently found a large butterfly deceased in our driveway. Its wings are beautiful though. This case was perfect for mounting it and was a fun project for our oldest to lead.
