My students love these! They are a nice small size that is perfect for little hands and for putting multiple magnets in one space like a magnetic easel. The pictures are clear and easy to understand. The foam is soft on hands, but also sturdy. This offers another fun way to work on CVC words and vocabulary. You can easily turn this into a writing activity by having students pick a magnet and write its word on a dry erase board, chalkboard, etc. Great find!

I like them but the only downside is kids still put things in their mouths so although its cute and my kid likes to play with them I have to watch carefully. They easily fit into her mouth. Also my dog took them from my daughter and also started chewing them. So maybe put it at adult height on the fridge if your going to put it there like I did.

So many positives for this set, but I will keep my review brief. First off, it comes in a small rectangular box, very travel friendly for parents and travelling therapists. Secondly, there is a wide selection of first word items, great for labeling, what/where questions, and sorting into categories. Thirdly, they are foam, very kid friendly, and are easy to clean. All parents should have these for their children.

These have the potential to have educational value and they are fun for kids as well. They look nice and there is a variety included. They also come in a plastic storage case.

We got these to help our daughter practice spelling. They are fun to work with using the movable alphabets. I started by hiding one picture in each hand and asking her to pick one to spell. We ended up taking turns to spell words.Sometimes, she will say something different (e.g. feet instead of legs). I let her spell feet instead. We will be using these for a while to make sure she can spell all 50 words even though the reference sheet might not always be accurate. We will also be using this to spell non-cvc words. For example, I can point to the ear in the wig picture and ask her to spell that instead. Bubbles instead of tub, backpack instead of bag, walnut instead of nut, etc. This can also help her learn that the same image may be reference by different ways and different names. It can also help her learn adjectives vs noun vs verb vs synonym by asking her to spell the color of the object, mix / spin / stir, what the object is used for, etc. After she has successfully spelled them with the movable alphabets, we will use them again to practice writing (hopefully with proper size and spacing). If anything, these could be improved by using actual images of the objects instead of cartoon drawings.

These CVC word magnets are ok quality, probably better suited to home use than classroom use. They are a soft foam with a glossy paper or plastic image adhered to the top. After giving instructions to my 2nd grade special education students to "handle with care," I let them test them out in combination with letter magnets (bought separately). They were a big hit, and kept the students occupied while I met with a different group. The CVC picture magnets came with two sheets that I planned on laminating and using as a key, but some of the words do not match the image. The bat and a pot were both labeled "rod" and another flaw, there is a "gem" but those in the know realize students aren't using the soft g yet when at the CVC word level, so I removed it from the center. These are made in China. Overall, this is a good product for the price.

So I'm normally not a huge fan of the foam magnets because younger kids when they chew on them can start to disintegrate them. So far these seem to hold up ok when the 1yo granddaughter has been found gnawing on them. One thing to be careful of is some of these are rather small, so littler folks getting them could get the whole magnet in the mouth fairly easily. I wouldn't call them a choking hazard, per se, but a thing to watch out for. The package does say 4+ on it, but if you're like we have been with our kids and grandkids, this kind of identification and language building tool is getting used before they're even 2, so not sure why it's considered a 4+, unless it's due to size. The variety of the magnets is really good, lots of different animals and objects to play identification games, as well as numbers. There are unique objects here I don't think I've seen in other sets, which his nice.
