Since I was redoing my whole exhaust and changed my downpipe diameter and upgraded to a 3 way instead of 2 way suppose to use; though my car has hybrid of OBD1 & 2 on my volvo.

Used this cat on a 2017 WRX STI to replace a cat on an aftermarket downpipe that didnt seem to filter well (smelled catless). This new catalytic converter eliminated the smell but does seem to be a little more restrictive as far as turbo spool. I’m overall happy with it. I haven’t had any egg or rotten smells like others stated, maybe a little the first time it got hot / broke in.

Put this on my skyline to try and pass emissions, not even close to passing. Only about 10 gps less co than when running catless.

Inlet was slightly larger which allowed me some play and angle adjustment in a 3" pipe. At about 9" overall length was the right size. Installed it and within 3 to 5 mins it started cleaning excess fuel. Then it started glowing inside and min after a blue flame. Yikes I was running rich, had to back off in fuel table and it has since settled down. Did not melt thankful but impressive that it burned that raw fuel glowing and shooting blue flame. Wife is happier garage is no longer a gas station.

Magnaflow cats worked great, welded mine to headers instead of extension pipes. After I thought about it and wished I would of done a little more thinking, should of welded the cats to the rest of the exhaust.

I originally bought my 2002 WRX, and quickly found out that the previous owner had removed the cat. Since this created a very strong exhaust smell, I wanted a cat which would fit the 3 inch piping installed, and would eliminate most of the smell without sacrificing much performance. This did the trick!
