Works well. Nice to get away from small bottles and use a tank.

Tired of running out of gas with one pound bottles, I finally opted for this conversion. Combined it with a quality but inexpensive 6ft hose with regulator. At the highest level the output seems higher than the old system while still allowing me to get a low flame too. I grill on a Magma Party Size 12 months a year.

I used it for my Magma boat BBQ to use on my RV's house propane along with an extension hose, instead of the little bottles. Works great!

In addition to other portable grills, I have had a Magma Kettle grill for several years, which we've used on our boat and on chartered boats and on shore, usually using the ubiquitous green 1 pound propane cylinders or a small 5 pound propane cylinder and extension hose. But our new small motorhome is equipped with a low pressure LP outlet. Of the portable grills we have, only Magma offers a conversion valve that allows the same grill to use low pressure propane. First I contacted Magma directly to confirm, and then ordered the valve through Amazon. By using the low pressure propane source, we won't need to carry extra propane bottles. Here's what is really nice: the conversion valve fits the grill in the same manner that the original valve/regulator fits which is used with the high pressure propane sources. So it's possible to switch back and forth from one valve to the other without any effort and without using any tools. We'll be able to use the grill using the new valve with our RV's low pressure system, and still use it on our boat using the original valve and a high pressure source--conceivably on the same outing.Although none of the boats that we've chartered have had low pressure LP outlets, owners who have had their boats equipped with low pressure outlets from their built in LP systems would also find this valve to be useful, to eliminate carrying separate propane bottles.

Bought this to do away with the 1# camp cylinders and run off larger RV tank. Works very well. Pricey for what it is, and I don't think that's just because it says Magma on it. The generic hose I needed cost the same. I was surprised to see it came with a 1/4" NPT to 3/8" flare adapter. Just pay attention to which hose you buy. Excellent construction with matching stainless steel housing. I do wish the control valve faced the front of the grill for more intuitive operation. There are position detents for medium, high, and off positions.
