Arrived on time. Came with a good amount of product and molds to create with. Also came with 2 scooping baskets so multiple kids can play. Instructions are simple and has pictures to help kids understand. Does take a bit for the gel to harden enough to take out of the water but teaches kids patience. Colors are fun and vibrant. Great little craft for kids to play and entertain them for hours.

Initially the instructions were a bit confusing since we had never done this before, but after watching a few YouTube videos it seems like the instructions are on par. This was easy for a six year old to do, though a little harder for a three year old who can’t count to 30 seconds yet and is really impatient. The water elves are still pretty squishy after 30 seconds or 60 seconds, so it’s best to leave them in a bit longer before playing with them. The three year old popped a few, but that’s ok it was a learning experience. After leaving the water elves in the solution for over an hour, you just need to put them in plain tap water to keep them from drying out (instructions don’t say this, but a YouTube video did).

This toy is a lot. There were a lot of moving parts and the end result isn’t something that can be played with. They pop and good comes out of it. The pro is that the instructions are very detailed and it comes with everything you need and lots of color choices, it’s just not as easy to make them as eluded to.The end result isn’t something that is durable and can be played with persay-they’re a temporary “toy” that eventually dries out. It takes 30 min for them to set up too-it makes it seem like they’ll be done instantly.Maybe they’re just not for us….

I have ordered about 6 different sets (all different brands) of these water elf toy sets. They’re all very similar, yet slightly different. This one is one of my favorites. If it had more molds, it might be my favorite – but since there are only 6 molds, I can’t say it’s my absolute favorite. This one also has the color black, which I prefer for the eyes for the little critters! Believe it or not, but MANY of the kits don’t have a black color at all. So, if I am looking to order a new one, I like to check three things: 1. Does it have the color black (and how many different colors? 2. How many packets of powder for the water does it come with (since these are required for the gel to work and dictate how many different times you can play with the kit)? And 3. How many molds does it have. Those would be the three things I look for when ordering one of these kits. The price of this when I originally ordered this item was $21.99, which is a great price for everything you get in this!

This isn't a bad kit, but there are others out there which offer more or make things a tad more interesting.This kit kind of falls in the middle of having not enough and also too much depending on your needs. For me, I'm looking for more variety for a kit this size, but I suppose it's ok as a starter kit to test our, but there are cheaper and smaller starter kits if you're trying it out.Certainly still fun and it still functions perfectly fine, with fun colors and shapes.

It's hard to find easy fun things to do with kids sometimes. It all seems like the same thing so I search for unusal items to help spark creativity and fun. This fit the bill. It's easy, fun, maybe a little messy, depends on the ages but they loved it and that's all that matters. I feel its a good value and something we can do more than once which isn't always the case with kits. Theres a large variety of color and molds so it's fun.
