This is a lovely gift. It is a delicate gold leaf card, clearly labelled as laminated for it's protection, and when held up to the light you can see how delicate it is. It shines in the light beautifully and is a reminder of a wish for good fortune. When the kanji is translated, it shows 8 separate wishes/prayers on it. It also has the "proof" of the shrine prayer on it as well. A wonderful gift for a spiritual person in your life, or for yourself as your own 'boost' of good fortune.

My wife has an omamori charm in the car. Her former coworker also gave her a little figurine of a Chinese deity of Luck. I assure you my wife isn’t as superstitious as another reviewer has commented. My wife listens to ghost stories to fall asleep to.As to those who make comments about how it might not win them any prizes at casinos: true, this probably won’t win you any prizes. This lucky charm isn’t simply for people who drop a bunch of money for superstition just because it’s not your culture. But for those who believe and want extra protection/blessing, it matters a great deal to them. Why are people who believe in lucky four-leaf clovers, horseshoes, acorns, certain animals or jewelry not wrong too? It could be because it’s meaningful to them or their culture, or it’s just a well-intentioned gift for you or a friend. Not trying to be the “sensitive” or “preaching”, but ignorant comments irk me and can offend culturally.Daruma dolls (like a roly poly) is one of the most recognizable cultural icons. It’s not just about making wishes and filling the eyes when you achieve your goals. The meaning of the daruma is the ability to persevere and the strength to get back up. It's a reminder; like those who feel adrenaline when Eye of the Tiger starts playing on the radio.Overall, this is a very nice gift for someone you like or a gift for yourself. Workmanship is beautiful! They used gold leaf to make the amulet, so I presume it adds to the cost, and it has been prayed at a Japanese shrine and therefore “blessed”. It's not a dupe product and you and you can tell. It has well intended wishes for luck and prosperity, or simply you like the Asian or Japanese culture and want to have a nice reminder for yourself that you will succeed and persevere. But overall? It's a beautiful reminder of the culture, and for those where it matters, it is blessing from their culture which reminds them what is important and special.

I love Daruma dolls, and this was perfect to add to my collection. The gold leaf on this card is stunning and shines, even underneath the card protector. The daruma image is sharp, and I can’t find one defect - it’s perfect. I almost always have a little daruma on my person, and this is so easy to throw in my wallet that I know I can always have one now. Very happy with this - just beautiful!
