Sizing Chart

Upsize 1 full size to find your US size

General Rule of Thumb for beginners:

  • Comfortable is too large
  • Painful is too tight
  • Uncomfortable is perfect

The most important factor to consider when choosing any rock shoes is finding a pair that fits well. Remember that leather upper shoes are likely to stretch over time (mostly in lateral width), while lined and synthetic upper shoes are not likely to stretch much at all.

Climbing shoe sizing varies from brand to brand and, just to confuse the issue, often from model to model within a brand. Use numerical sizes purely as a guideline. As a rule of thumb, the level of shoe discomfort increases proportionately to an increase in climbing "level". This is primarily a result of molding the foot into as firm and precise an appendage as possible in an effort to eliminate "roll" (due mainly to weak feet or the shoe is too big and rolling around your foot) and increase sensitivity (sensual feedback) and pinpoint control.

Been using them for the past two years. Solid trad climbing shoe.

Works well. I like the toe. It fits my foot well. I believe I went a few sizes up, and it was perfect. Check other comments about exactly how much because it was a while ago. The only thing I don't like is that they're kinda ugly, but that's a minor inconvenience.

Im new to the climbing sport, about 3 months in. These are waay better than rentals. They are much firmer and have better grip than rentals. For MY foot i like how the shoe favors the big toe. For a big foot like mine it makes placing your toe in a hole a breeze! The bottom is advertised as aggressive but still allows smearing and "feels" somewhat flat. I like that. The heel is nice and bigger than some other brands.Fitting: I wear a US 13 in nikes, US 12 in Timberland boots, and US 15 in these MadRock Pheonixs. Nice and snug with a regular sock...Cons: I feel the laces are good and bad. The laces allow for a refined fit. Loose or tight in your preferred arrangement. I like them TIGHT! On the down side the laces can be a hassle if youre taking them on and off.Overall i recommend these shoes to all new climbers!

What were supposed to be new shoes arrived with scuff marks on them from climbing. Not bad enough to return, but will not be buying from this vendor again.

not true to size. Feel like I need a size 13 instead of the 12 I ordered and I usually wear a 12 for the extra room. will be returning

Great shoe when you want to keep your shoes on all day. Real leather stretched as expected, so maybe order small.

The shoes fit great and the price of the shoes was very affordable. I have a wide foot and it felt super comfortable wearing these. At first I would have rated the shoes 5 out of 5 stars but now would have to lower it to 3ish stars. Not sure if it was maybe a defect in my shoes or if all of them come like this from the factory but.The rand in my shoe is starting to have a hole in it. I climb 2-3 times a week indoors. And have had the shoes for less than a month.Pretty bummed out that I have to either get them repaired or buy a new pair. I have reached out to the company. Via email and hope to get a response soon.Update: the company was super quick to reply. I was told I could get a refund and send the shoes back or contact mad and warranty the shoes out. I chose the refund as it seemed the quickest option.I was able to send the shoes back and get a refund. It wasnt too much of a hassle or anything. I got return label and shipped them out. Was in and out in a few mins. 5/5 customer service!
