I bought this to replace a large console. It has some very nice features for recording sources, and monitoring. Setup is fairly easy, but if you use XLR, you will have to get TRS adapters. They were not that expensive, as you can get dedicated adapters, or XLR to TRS cables easily. My desk is less crowded now.

Ho comprato questo controller per separare le linee audio del mio impianto home studiospesso mi capita di lavorare di notte e mantenere il volume del controller basso ed è proprio qui che cade la mela.A volumi bassi (pomello che indica all'incirca i -16db, si può notare (anche in modo pronunciato) un diverso loud di uscita tra i canali destro e sinistro!Ovvero in parole povere fin quando non si supera la meta corsa del pomello, si sentirà fuoriuscire dagli altoparlanti un volume diverso (es. il sinistro mantiene un volume più alto rispetto a quello destro o viceversa).Pensando che fosse difettoso, l'ho sostituito, ma il problema era sempre lo stesso!Adesso mi trovvo con un audient NERO, tutt'altro mondo, decisamente migliore.

I bought this mostly for its ABC monitor select and appreciated the Source Select.... but the USB source is sketchy, I find at times it disconnects from my computer and won't be found again without power cycling... So my work around at the moment is to usb to a different DAC/interface and route that in as a source.Something odd is that the big volume knob itself gets warm.I'd probably like this product more if they improved or cut out their usb features.

My old big knob had begun sounding bad on almost all of the input channels and I needed to replace it with something. The new version also has a USB audio interface which turns out to be a plus for me since I can use it on my Windows 10 machines.

When it's working it's great but for extended use it will act up or disconnect with the DAW (I'm using Ableton).UPDATE:My computer had a BIOS update and now the Big Knob Studio+ is working just fine.

Always been a fan of the time tested Big Knob, and I'm glad they made this refreshing update on it. It's every bit as flexible and powerful, just with a more modern look and some new input options.-Has a convenient, 1/8" analog in right on the front for AUX situations.-Talkback finally has both an external mic input, AND a foot pedal/switch option (blessed).-Can get LOUD... like uncomfortably and unprofessionally loud.-The new lighting and LEDs are a cool touch, and all the buttons (as well as overall construction) feels solid and sturdy.Highly recommend this for those in need of studio monitor control for 2 or 3 pairs!

I love the DAC (digital audio converter) that Mackie uses on a lot of its mixers. The Big Knob has it as well. Clean and warm sound with a very nice low end. If you have nice headphones or speakers and you need a way to direct all your sound this is what you need. Warning the volume capabilities are huge, you can explode your ears if your not careful. Only nice thing might be a tone control or a crossover control of some sort. But now that is getting into other areas of the studio.

I paid $300 for this back in Nov 2017. It's now Nov 2019 and after a HEAVY Boom sound, bottom two lights, '2Track' and 'TO CUE' stayed ON. It's broken but the lights are staying on. I wish I got more than 2 years out of this.You can see in the photo the bottom two lights are not supposed to stay on, but they are permanently lit now. Also the VU levels are almost halfway up and stay there without any signal coming through. It's DEAD RIP, buy another interface, not this!

Exceeded my expectations. The USB converter is very great sounding and super useful. If you’re upgrading from an old Big Knob or Control or Monitor Station you’ll love it. The knob itself gets a little warm - that’s my only complaint. I like my knobs ice cold!
