A little frustrated at the long delivery time - i think this ended up being an import / from USA - that didn't seem immediately obvious when i purchased it from Amazon. However, the change in tone that this gives is unbelievable.I had to google/youtube how to actually attach it to the snare rim (which is literally by forcing it down pulling the leather tabs apart slightly) but once in place, it eliminated all of the tinny resonance/buzz that i dislike in my snare/s.Despite moving very recently to a Maple snare from a 1mm steel one, that vague echoey sizzle still annoyed me a little - i hadn't realised how much that was still present until i applied this snareweight damper. As well as doing the job beautifully, it looks and feel a quality item - which is also important to me - i really don't want to have a nice kit with a cheap looking or feeling accessory. The leather of this is an even colour with well fastened rivets for holding in place against the magnetic section. The leather is nice and supple meaning that changing the position of the damper (or flipping it off the head completely) is a simple one-handed motion.A worthwhile addition to my kit for sure.

It just saved the snare in my studio. It had a bad ringing moongels couldn't solve. Got the M80, and it solved it, and saved the drum sound in my studio and the metal recordings I made after installing it.

I love this thing! Its the perfect noise gate for your snare. The force of a down beat pops it up to allow for the bull body crack to be heard and then mutes all the undesirable overtones when it lands back down. Ghosting sounds great with it too! Definitely getting one for each snare.

For the price, I was disappointed with the near indesernable difference in snare drum muffling with the snareweight in the on position (down) and the off position (up). It removed about the same amount of ring as one well placed Moongel. It's a good concept for removal from the drum head without removing the device completely, however, I don't believe the thin strip of leather is nearly as effective as gel pads or other vibration / sound muting substances. Soft rubber or other mildly adhesive substances would be a more effective option with the same convenient mechanics of the snareweight attachment device.

This snareweight works perfectly. I’ve always used moon gel’s that seemed great, but had issues with either staying attached to the head or just getting gross and wearing out. Or you had to use multiple ones to achieve certain sounds. This product just works and is adjustable to create different levels of dampening just through different folds using the magnets. It stays in place and creates awesome consistency in the sound. Don’t hesitate. Buy one.

This dampener works great! It gives a variety of dampening options without killing your tone. I put it on a Remo Ambassador Fiberskyn head that rings a lot on my nickel-plated steel Tama Starphonic snare drum. I use the fully dampening option because that particular head rung out a lot and it does the trick for me.
