Gerät funktioniert und das zu einem sehr günstigen Preis. Kabel könnte etwas länger sein.

I ordered this sensor to work with a tachometer and specifically selected this one due to its advertised 1.5 kHz response frequency. Today I tested its operation by sensing a rotating 11 teeth chain sprocket. The sprocket OD was turned in situ on a lathe to have minimum runout. Each tooth target surface measured 4 x 2 mm and was separated from each other by wide gaps. The gap between the sensor tip and the sprocket OD was set at 0.6 mm and the sprocket material was steel. I think it is an ideal application for a proximity sensor. The lathe was operated at different speeds from 85 to 1500 RPM, which for the 11 teeth sprocket equals to 15.5 - 275 Hz. This switching frequency should be well within the sensor capabilities, but the testing proved it is not the case. At lower speeds the sensor performed properly, but at 1500 RPM it started missing some signals and produced some low and erratic values at the tachometer. When I reduced the gap to 0.5 mm, the sensor started to read correctly, but just barely. Looking at the specs the sensing distance should be 1.5 mm. I did not check the sensor operation at the maximum switching frequency and I have little hope the sensor would work at such limit. For comparison I have tried a much bigger 12 mm proximity sensor on the same target. The sensor was very cheap and had a max switching frequency of 0.5 kHz. I set it with a 0.9 mm gap to the target and it performed without any issues.Based on my testing this sensor is not appropriate for any high frequency signal detection.
