Good quality and easy to install but something I didn’t know and disappointing is that the combination numbers order doesn’t matter. If you set 1234 as your code, typing 3241 or 4213 will work as well and unlock the lock. It’s quite a bit insecure… so if you care about that be warned, it may not be a lock for you! I wish I had known before.

It may look a bit tricky at first, but once you figure out how it works and how to install it, you will enjoy it. The package includes several extras (kudos to manufacturer) that help customize installation for almost any gate/door. The key benefit is that you get a keyless weather-resistant surface lock that does not require wireless connection, battery replacement, power adapter, and all that stuff that comes with electronic and smart locks. Excellent fit for shared doors/gates. In fact, this is the only affordable and decent quality lock of this kind.

Love this lock. Looks and feels pretty solid. Installed it on my 3" shed door, had to get an extension kit (ext.kit2000/3000) for it to work with 3" door. It's a little pricey but worth it. Also, do not expect high-end security from this lock.

After a new fence replacement, we wanted to add a gate lock to the gates so we could easily lock/unlock from either side of the yard and function without electricity. I was surprised our fence installer did not have a good recommendation so we did the next best thing... researched Amazon! We now have been using this gate lock for over a year and we are very happy with the product. The locks were installed by my husband on two gates to our yard. He read thru reviews/installation suggestions and also purchased the extension kit directly from the manufacturer. Again, it's been over a year and the locks are holding up great and functioning without any problems at all. The only "con" I can report is remembering exactly how to unlock the gate but that is completely user-error on my part. Our pool guy and exterminator have no issues getting in and out of the yard.

this lock required 5 mm machine threaded screws but came with 3mm screws that, in addition to being the wrong diameter, they were also too short. None of the hardware stores in our area carry this size in the required length. As if that was not enough, your deadbolt length is either very long in the unlocked position or extremely short in the locked position. I’ve spent a few hours on this installation and will have to put my old lock back on until I find the necessary screws.

No, it's not for a "Fort Knox" type of security need, but it's a great little lock that will deter those "crimes of opportunity." It's very well designed, quite versatile, easily installed and even comes with clearly written directions! I installed it on the "people" door of a detached garage and it does everything I wanted. Obviously, it locks the door and can be opened without a key. But, it doesn't lock automatically when you close the door. While that might be a negative for some. But, for me it means that I don't have to leave the door open or repeatedly unlock it when I'm doing a project that requires me to go "in and out" of that door. However, when I'm done, just turn the handle and the door is locked. If you read the directions and give a little thought to planning, installation is about a 15 minute job requiring only a drill and a screwdriver. In short, if you want a surface mount lock for a light to medium duty installation, this one can fit the bill.

I purchased this for use on a gate on our wooden privacy fence. It seems well made, it works well, and is easy to install. Only problem I had with it was when I opened it to change the combination, one of the small Phillips head screws wouldn't come loose, and the Philips head pattern stripped out. (the head, not the threads). I got my trusty Dremel tools and a sanding disc, and cut a single slot across the head, and used a blade screwdriver to get the screw out.The sliding bolt has a bit of play in it, so if you use it in the longer reach configuration, make sure you allow for a bit of wiggle when the bolt is extended. best to line things up as close as possible. Not the highest security device I'm sure, but it's overkill for a residential fence that is easy to climb over.
