Got this for my kiddo and they were super excited about it. But we have only had it a few days and when they went to turn it on this morning, after being on about 5 minutes it started making a horrendous super loud buzzing sound. We turned it off and waited for kiddos Dad to come home and he says that yeah the amp must be faulty.I had noticed upon arrival the glue in the back did not seem to be holding down all of the fabric, but as long as it worked the aesthetics of the back of it wasn't a big deal.... We were more concerned with functionality, which is an issue because it isn't functional. Will update review after refund replacement.

Bought this for my kid for his birthday, we were not able to tune it properly due to missing parts and screws. We took it to a guitar shop in the city I am from and they were not able to fix it or keep it in tune due to faulty parts.

Great guitar for my grandson, amp not so much. Wish I had gotten a different amp. Easy to play and nice quality.

This is a Great guitar and amp for the price! Perfect started guitar for my 11 year old. Customer service is great, too. I ordered a left handed guitar, but they accidentally sent me a right handed one. They returned the right hand guitar and sent a left handed one out immediately.

I purchased this for my grandson (age 5), and I feel this guitar and amp are a good deal for the price point. And now, for the rest of the story. The action was WAY too high so I could not get this instrument to intonate properly - I had to do the following so that it would properly intonate up the neck. 1) I had to install a 1mm fender style neck shim under the bolt on point of the neck. (purchased the shim at StewMac), as lowering the saddle at the bridge did not give enough control on height. 2) I had to un-screw the bridge and move the entire assembly toward the heel of the body 5/32". 3) Had to file fret ends on the sides of fingerboard ( I expected this as the humidity levels in China are higher than California - fret board wood shank a bit). 4) Built a new bone nut for it and lowered string height at the 1st fret to .020 of an inch down to the low E and to .14 on the high E.Instrument now has a good action height, good neck relief (.004) at the 6th fret and plays in tune and is buzz free. The amp is clean and fairly loud. The single pickup on the instrument is more than adequate. Paint job on the body was perfect. Actually, overall finish on the instrument was quite good.

After lots of research and a trip to two local guitar stores, I bought this as a Christmas gift for my 6 year old grandson. I was impressed with the quality of this guitar! I’ve played guitar for decades. The neck, headstock and fretboard are all high quality. The tuners could use an upgrade but are adequate at this stage. I had to replace the strings immediately (went with online expert recommendations for 3/4 scale guitars: 11-50 DR High-Beams (value brand)), and had to sand out the nut to fit the slightly wider E and A strings. I used a “locking technique” on the windings to compensate for the tuners. I had to adjust the intonation (you can find videos on how to do that if you don’t know) but now it will mostly hold its tuning. If he progresses on it, I’ll move him up to the Fender Squire Mini, but for now, this will do very nicely. The amp is larger and louder than I expected, and my daughter appreciates that it comes with a headphone jack! The gig bag is a nice extra, as is the strap. Great kit for this price! The pic shows the dark blue version of this guitar compared to my full size Gibson.

Great for beginner kids. My kid instantly felt like a rockstar. My only complaint is that it’s nearly impossible to keep in tune. Does not come with a tuner. Even after buying a separate automatic tuner it has to be used every single time the guitar is used, sometimes multiple times per use. The only “upside” to this is my kid seems to not care AT ALL if it’s tuned, and the amp is just as loud either way.

I purchased this guitar for my son's 7th birthday. It is the prefect size for him! We love how it comes with all of the extra parts and accessories, such as, extra wire, a tuner, extra pic, etc. I wish the bag was more durable but the fact it comes with a bag and has a pocket for all of his accessories, we love that! Can't wait until it's time for him to go up to the next size!

I have been playing guitar and bass for almost 40 years. I am not a professional but I have played in a number of actively gigging original bands and recorded 5 independent releases with the bands. My 7 year old son started taking interest in my guitars, but I am not about to hand a Les Paul over (even just the weight of it is not appropriate for a little guy). I bought my first guitar from the Sears catalog back in 1982. It was not very good and the action set so high that my fingers could get caught between the strings at the higher frets (but I didn't know any better at the time and I was leaning on myown). After a bit of online research I settled on this kit. Upon arrival I immediately opened it and started checking all the components. Everything works and is of good quality for the price. The guitar is overall well built and looks just as depicted. I was impressed by the action, which can really get in the way of learning if it is not appropriately set. The guitar had obviously been pre-tuned and had maintained it fairly well (considering the thermal fluctuations it must have been subjected to in transit - it's December - and during storage). I enjoyed playing the instrument, keeping in mind it's not a high end instrument but an excellent one for the price. The amplifier is just right. No one wants to lose sleep to a 7 year old playing guitar and the amp provides enough volume to have a lot of fun but not wake up grandma. It also has a headphone jack. It has quite a bit of range (again for the price), and the built in distortion is rather pleasant (think early Black Sabbath but also able to get more modern tones by playing with the bass and treble). The clip on tuner worked as expected and is very easy to use. The strap is functional and appropriate. Would I use this guitar to play a gig or record? sure, why not? it's a fine instrument that gets the job done and I had fun mucking about with it. Nothing fancy but everything about it is better than adequate and an excellent first guitar kit. If this had been my first guitar I would have had a much easier time learning how to play than I did with the one I actually had.

So I really hesitated about buying this. It was for my 9 year old son. Man I do not regret it one bit. Maybe some guitar experts would have some negative comments but for the average person and especially a child it's awesome. I did find it a bit hard to tune. Maybe new strings? It does come with a second set of strings but I don't know if the strings are the best quality for tuning. But overall it sounds great and the amp works good too. It's small and compact. I would say it's the perfect size for 11 years and under.

I must say I was quite impressed with the quality of this guitar. It has a nice heavy feel. The volume and tone knobs have a nice resistance when turning, doesn't feel loose/cheap. The tuners are tight and seem to hold. Guitar was almost in tune out of the box which was nice. I can't wait to set up the action on the bridge. This was a great purchase for sure and I bet the full size guitar would be of comparable quality to my Squire Affinity Strat, if not better.
