I needed this to cut a hole to put vents in a trailer. It did the trick and it was cost effective. Just remember to take your time when drilling don’t go top speed.

Worked great, heavy and solid build. I used to cut holes in OSB for my 6” LED pancake lights.

I bought this to make K9 scent work boxes after being shocked by the $30 price tag at Home Depot. Instead, I found this for $10 on Amazon and decided to give it a shot. At first, everything seemed fine—until I actually used it. While drilling the first hole, I thought I smelled something burning but wasn’t sure. The moment I punched through, black smoke started coming out of the box. Thankfully, I was able to finish the job—but only with a fire extinguisher within reach. By the time I was done, the tool was completely dull, and given the near-fire experience, I threw it away. I guess I shouldn’t have been so cheap and should’ve gone with the American-made Home Depot version instead. Lesson learned.

I needed it for one-time job and it did it. However, I am not sure how many times it would last. A locking screw holding a bit lasted one time; I cannot take the bit out of the holder.

I needed to drill metal with this. It worked great at slow steady speed. It would bind if I tried to put too much pressure. The blade is very sharp and after the cuts it’s still sharp. Great durability.I feel great for the price.

Very nice hole saw. I used it to cut several holes in wood. I can’t speak to other materials. It’s deep enough to cut through at least 1 inch thick boards in a single cut. Makes clean cuts, and the plugs were easy to dislodge with the help of a screwdriver. The little spring on the arbor helps eject it. Comes with extra drill bits and an Allen wrench, all in a nice sturdy box. Great addition to my workshop at a very reasonable price!

I had no prior experience with hole saws, and some info from the other reviews made me very confused. After buying this and few other products, maybe this could save someone some headaches. This hole saw includes a 1/2" arbor and two 3/8" drill bits. You could use the drill bits directly on the hole saw without the arbor, but there's a chance that due to the heat and torque it could become fused in the saw and impossible to remove, which is what happened with mine. Judging from other reviews, the drill bits sometimes break, so then you would end up with a useless hole saw.The 1/2" arbors have two metal cylinders that are meant to stick into the holes adjacent to where the drill goes. These prevent the drill from over-tightening so that it would always be possible to remove afterwards. The general wisdom is that 3/8" drills are only good for up to 1-3/8" hole saws. For example, Dewalt doesn't even manufacture a 3/8" drill for large size holes. However, some other companies like Milwaukee does. I recommend getting the 3/8" Quick Change Large Hole Saw Arbor (49-56-7250) for about $25 from Home Depot to use with these hole saws so that the drill bit doesn't get stuck and break. These have the cylinders that prevent over-tightening.I'm only cutting PVC to make hydroponic reservoirs, and after a few holes the paint starts to come off at the blades. The blade itself seems intact. I see the negative reviews are cutting metal or harder materials. It would seem that regardless of marketing, it would probably be a good idea to get a more expensive hole saw with carbide tips for harder materials.Of course, if you're only cutting a couple holes and this is the only size you need, then maybe you wouldn't care that the drill is stuck on the hole saw, and you could take a chance to cut the holes you need before it breaks.

Bought this hole saw to enlarge a hole in my garage for a vent fan. It states it is not quite 3” in diameter but it worked perfectly to make the hole 3”. Garage has a “double” wood siding type design and is made of good hard wood as my garage is quite old. This saw made quick work of cutting the wood out and suffered zero wear to the saw itself. It is a good quality product.Only downfall is that the arbor will tighten up to the saw making it very hard to remove it but that is not really necessary as it is a single saw.Box is in Chinese but the saw itself is clearly marked in English.Comes with TWO extra bits as well as an Allen key to loosen the Allen screw holding in the bit and is easily accessible from the top of the tool.A nice spring is with the bit which helps in removal of the plug.I’ve only used it once so far but it seems to be a well made product.A+ would recommend.
