Take down the grey rim.

Use the pry opener to take down the filter from the floating disk.

Use the pry opener to open a little gap between the two pieces.

Slowly pop it open.

This works for less water on the floor but the part that floats gets water in it that gets a horrible smell like it’s rotten, don’t see where it can come apart to clean and sanitize, every day when I change the water the smell is horrible I thought it was the filter so I removed it, and the next day when emptying it to wash the same horrible smell. I will have to get rid of this as this can’t be good for my puppies. I would suggest not purchasing this item. I need to change my review, luckily I saved my info plus watched the video on this and it does come with a tool to take apart and clean, so I will give it 5 stars as it works pretty well for us with 3 mini Schnauzers.

I had 2 older dogs . The oldest dog was starting to get water all over the place. Driving me crazy I found this WATER WONDER by accident. And I am so glad I did it is Fantastic. No more water all over the place it was very easy to train them. I brought the larger one . Right decision it is wonderful. One of our dog dribbles a lot after drinking water. At times we were dry mopping. This completely stopped. We even purchased a second one. Reason for 4 stars and not 5, you have to buy filters for it. It does collect a dust-like film in the bottom corners so we clean it once a week, but wipes out easily. Recommend pulling the floating square apart from time to time and when replacing filter -it gets pretty icky on the inside. Does come with a small tool for the filter and to pry it apart -you won't break the floating center pulling it apart if you rotate sides to loosen (though it comes apart tough and may feel like it). So it's a few extra cleaning steps and needs filters.

The LumaLeaf No Spill water feeder is neater (less splashing) than a conventional water bowl. Dogs being dogs however, will find a way to splash water out of a bowl. On day one, I was convinced that there was no hope and that water splashing would continue unabated. By day three, splashing of water had all but ended. I am now convinced that the splashing behavior has pretty much ended and I believe that the LumaLeaf bowl is the reason. Much less mopping-up and less refilling than with traditional water bowls. I am now happy with my purchase.

I have a totally mental ragdoll cat that is obsessed with water. She will drag litter into and overturn every water source making an absolute mess. I tried many water dispensing solutions and even ponied up for one of those expensive automatic dispensers, but nothing worked and she sabotaged everything.Enter this solid product. She has been drinking from it for a few weeks now and still hasn't found a way to mess it up and that counts as a resounding win in my book, considering what a psycho she is. The water surface is well covered and only a small water receptacle is exposed so the water stays largely clean. Very little splashing opportunities too. The overall design is very stable and so there is no chance of overturning. Thank you, manufacturer!

I have a golden doodle who always gets her ears and her muzzle in the water bowl. She loves to face plant in my lap afterwards. This has solved that problem. It works really well. She’s a little afraid of it at first, but after the first try, she’s doing great with it.

I have a 6 month old German Shepherd who drinks water like an elephant. Dunks his whole face in and gets water everywhere. Like holds liters in his mouth to dump all over the floor. Friends and family put their water bowls outside when we come over. This changed everything. It slows him down. He can't slurp a ton at a time. It's like 95% less messy. It's so good. Super easy to put together. He figured it out right away. Spectacular, give me 14 of them right now.

It was easy to put together and it does stop my dog from getting water all over the floor. However, my lab seems to have a lot of difficulty with using it despite following the suggestions. He seems to understand how to get water out but seems to get frustrated and give up. He is not drinking nearly as much water and his urine seems like he is dehydrated. We needed to switch back to a regular bowl to keep him healthy.Edit: updated review to 5 stars because the seller provided a refund due to the issues my dog had with the bowl. If your dog is able to use it, I think it is a great idea.
