I was trying to find a reasonable priced luminol to perform a quick demonstration for my students. This worked great

The luminol powder arrived in good condition, and worked for my amateur chemists. This is a good way to get luminol, because the powder will last 5 years if protected from light, heat, and air (sealed and in refrigerator). Once it's made into a liquid, it can decompose within a day, although by keeping it in a dark bottle in the refrigerator it lasted about a week. For best results, you need to know that luminol doesn't work the way it is presented on TV. The glow is brief, about half a second, and too dim to see in a room with bright fluorescent lights. The luminol solution has to be alkaline, pH 9 or higher. To detect blood (meat juice) requires fresh hydrogen peroxide to be the oxidizer. Bleach all by itself will immediately oxidize luminol, and produce the brightest glow.

The bottle comes with a lot so you could make a lot of solution with it.
