Updated review: I ended up using these standoff mounts after being unable to find an alternative in the exact size and finish than I was looking for. The fit and finish is excellent and they are packed securely in the box so that there were no scratches or scuffs in the brushed stainless finish during shipping.However, these are sold as 1/2” in diameter but are actually 7/16”. It doesn’t sound like much but the visible area of the cap/button is nearly 25% smaller than what is advertised (pi * r^2 and all that). Photos show the LuckIn brand compared to a true to size alternative.

We have purchased several sets of stand offs on amazon and these were by far the best value. The 20 pack was great because it allowed us to finish several pending projects. The cost was amazing because we had previously paid just as much for a pack of 4. Easy to install, however, I did manually screw them in because my drill bit was too large to fit into the hole. I would like to see 1/2 x 3/4 or 1/4 stand offs for those projects that don't need to stand off quite as much.

I thought this was going to take a professional to install. But it turns out it took me only about ten minutes to put up a 8 peg posterboard. And it looks so professional.
