The LG one in like a plastic foam and this one is a solid carbon block, it is more brittle so do not shove it.

Same as LG branded filters. Lower price and perfect fit. No complaints. Some of the reviewers have pictures with the filter in the wrong direction. The side with the crossbar goes towards front of refrigerator. It is even marked on the plastic.
