Like many others, I was unable to tune my highest note to the suggested range. I broke two strings and ended up just tuning the second-highest to the highest it would let me without breaking, which is a G, and then tuned everything down to accommodate. The lowest notes sound a little loose, but not to the point of not playing. The wood quality feels great and the sound is good. I've had to retune a few times, but that is as expected per other reviews and posts elsewhere on the Internet.

TLDR: Very pretty, nice bag, is not remotely agreeable to the advertised tuning! The good: arrived quickly, very beautiful little lyre, I like that it comes with extra strings and the carrying bag.The bad: the included booklet doesn’t have any tuning for the 19 string lyre, so you have to guess or try to find it on this page, because there’s no online resource for it either. It also will not tune. It just doesn’t. I tried the initially advised tuning with the highest note being a C6 and the third highest string snapped on me. After that I dropped down to a weird tuning where my lowest string was an E3 (ridiculous and doesn’t sound good) and the highest string STILL snapped. I’d say I’m tuning it wrong, but the abundance of other reviewers having the same issue makes that less likely, in my eyes. If I go any lower in tuning, the lower strings aren’t going to sound any better than a rubber band over a tissue box, they’ll be too fuzzy and dull. Not the vibe for me.I wish I could write a glowing review about how much I love this instrument, but honestly it’s one of my few instruments that I am beginning to actively resent. Maybe the ones with a smaller range play better, MAYBE there are better strings or something, but at this time, I do not at all recommend this lyre. I feel like I overpaid for a soft carrying bag at this point.

Lovely little instrument. Well-made and nicely-finished, with a sweet sound. Will not tolerate being tuned in C as advertised. As others have mentioned, the top three strings will snap. But, tuned in the key of G (em), it does fine. Lower strings are a little flabby in the G-tuning, but not too bad. Seller says can be strung in nylon; am awaiting a set to give it a try. All in all, I am pleased with my purchase. EDIT: Received the nylon strings I had hoped would work on the lyre (a set of 19 nylon strings sold as lyre harp strings). Got about a third of the way through stringing them when it became apparent they would not work in either C/a or G/e (the set could not accommodate the two+ octave spread of the instrument in either key: either toneless on the bottom or breakage on the top). Ended up restringing in G/e with the extra set of strings that came with the instrument. Still enjoying the sound and have begun the process of transposing the many tunes I have in C/a. A little disappointed, but still enjoying the lyre. Hope I can find replacement strings, because I have now used my extra set.

This product of the 19 string Lyre is pretty good! The craftsmanship is well made, the lower strings tune really well, the only problem is those last three strings A5-C6 have difficulty tuning without snapping, my tuner says that they can only go up to A5 flat before breaking. I made sure to go extremely gentle with the strings, making sure to move the tuner a 16th of an inch(.158cm), but no luck. It may be possible I needed to wait a bit longer between tuning sessions to let the strings stretch, I’m going to have to buy more string as I only got 1 replacement string of each, but other than this, I love the Lyre!

First off- as other reviews say, it arrived entirely out of tune, which i expected. It tunes easy enough, but the highest five strings consistently snapped every time i tried to tune them. There's only one replacement string per note, and if that one snaps too, youre out of luck.

I really liked this product other than that the high strings kept breaking and the bridge was loose at that end. Maybe if you used nylon or cat gut strings at the high end it would be better-and I would have tried that if the bridge hadn't been loose.

Believe it or not, I bought this harp for my toddler who is really into music. And he absolutely loves is! It is so easy to play. The instrument also comes with a booklet that is helpful when trying to tune each of the strings. Material of the harp is amazing and the attention to detail is noticeable.
