This test kit is intended for USA residents. The « prepaid shipping » is for within the USA. If you live in Canada, you will have to pay postage fees. Also, there is no place for Canadian residents to put postal code. Many Canadian residents bought this and could not get test results. Don’t be fooled. Better go to a Canadian site to see which test can be bought and processed in Canada.

You have to spend additional twenty dollars to have testing complete.

I disliked that the product did not come with a serial number for to return for testing. I have to call pro _lab when they open to see about getting a serial #, so might be best to just go to Ace Hardware and buy test kit......

Long term radon test kit used to monitor for 6 months. Monitoring device sent to the Prolab in their packaging.Informed that the monitor device was damaged and could not be tested. They cashed my $20 check for analysis and offered a replacement monitor that would take another 6 months to radon sample. At that time I was also informed that testing was backlogged and it would take about 8 weeks for results! They told me that they would refund my $20 check but it’s been 3 months now and no check! Customer service contact tells me she’ll look into it but the accountant is out this week. This company is a SCAM! Good luck to you if you use this lab!

These tests are complete life savers. I use them for work. I would recommend them if you need answers on whether or not you have radon issues in your house.

There is a $20 fee per device. Results were completed easily and are in line with previous test I have done.

My neighbour asked me to order the radon gas detector my son had used to set up an extraction fan for his house in a neighbouring city. I ordered the 170 dollar item and it arrived the next day, to everyone's satisfaction. He asked me also to throw in this Pro-Lab test kit because it only cost 21 dollars, so I did. When it arrived a week later, he refused to accept it because he hadn't realized it requires a $30 dollar lab test in order to produce results. He wanted it returned. I explained that that is not how things work in our house. Return shipping takes time, harasses drivers, and costs half the value of the kit. I won't do this. This kit is not for the uninformed online shopper.

Pro-Lab does good work, I used them in the USA for several moves. They did (do?) have a short-term test (3 days I think) where you have to have your home locked up tightly - that is what I thought I was getting. THIS IS NOT THAT SHORT-TERM TEST.Instead, this test kit is activated and put in the area you want to test for a minimum of 3 months, and you live normally (no lock up). This is likely a better test as it simulates how you actually live, rather than look for a worst-case scenario. Now living in Canada, I was surprised that no company seems to make these tests here, and rather you need to ship your test to the USA for reading - but maybe I overlooked a supplier.

Instructions say leave detector undisturbed 3-12 months. I’m not sure I have a 3-12 month undisturbable place in my home.

Arrived very quickly and in good condition. I can't actually review the test kit because it is being used. I can say that the price is great because you have to pay another $20 for the test results and most of the other test kits end up costing around $40. by the time you are finished.

Used this long term test kit after a short one indicated a radon issue in a bedroom. Long term was much lower; the short term ones can get fooled if you just measure in the winter when the house is closed up and it acts like a chimney pulling up radon out of the ground. Long term results were a fraction of the short term, an d long term exposure to radon is what matters.

As a follow up - The test lab finally said they found it and did senda test report.*******************************************************************Originally I saidI mail it in - they say they never got it..It has been 3 weeks - Pro-Lab said I should wait a bit longer - sometimes themail is slow..I'll wait a bit - then ask for either a free replacement or a refund from Pro-Lab..I would note that a short term 3-7 day test kit can be purchased through the American LungAssociation for $14 - this includes the test device, mailing and test results. This is a goodquick start way to check for RADON.
