My work computer did not have Bluetooth so I ordered this to add that capability. It was simple plug and play and did not require any software installation. Headset found it and connected very easily. No issues and would recommend. Range is affected by walls in the house, but was not a problem for me.

I bought a small "dongle" Bluetooth to plug into my computer. Sometimes my wife says the volume is too loud but she's not 52 and ruined her hearing with Heavy Metal in her teen years. The small dongle has a range of about 2 inches so I figured I needed one with an actual antennae. This thing does what it's supposed to. I can walk around the kitchen, not the room the computer is in mind you, and it doesn't break the connection. I can walk out to the patio which is at least 25 feet away; still good. If you need a Bluetooth on an older model CPU, or the motherboard you just bought doesn't have Bluetooth already on it, (hint, hint) I'd recommend this model. It works great.

I like to dock my steam deck to the TV and stream my PC. I noticed that if I lean back into the recliner a bit the signal gets choppy/intermittent. I am not that far from the deck and my Line of Sight to it is clear... So I decided to get this. and it works with a little tweaking in desktop mode. Now I played for a few hrs and did not have any signal issues.

This worked in my Linux Ubuntu 24.04 desktop. However, it was not recognized at first. The dmesg log contained these messages and errors:$ sudo dmesg | grep Bluetooth...[14746.078556] usb 1-6.3: Product: Bluetooth 5.3 Radio[14746.088805] Bluetooth: hci0: RTL: examining hci_ver=0a hci_rev=000b lmp_ver=0a lmp_subver=8761[14746.089782] Bluetooth: hci0: RTL: rom_version status=0 version=1[14746.089785] Bluetooth: hci0: RTL: loading rtl_bt/rtl8761bu_fw.bin[14746.090021] Bluetooth: hci0: RTL: loading rtl_bt/rtl8761bu_config.bin[14746.090055] Bluetooth: hci0: RTL: cfg_sz 6, total sz 30210[14746.238752] Bluetooth: hci0: RTL: fw version 0xdfc6d922[14746.305913] Bluetooth: MGMT ver 1.22[14776.770961] Bluetooth: hci0: Opcode 0x2005 failed: -110[14776.770969] Bluetooth: hci0: command 0x2005 tx timeout[14776.770979] Bluetooth: hci0: Opcode 0x2041 failed: -110[14778.819050] Bluetooth: hci0: command 0x2005 tx timeoutI unloaded the kernel's Bluetooth module, and then immediately reloaded it, like so:$ sudo rmmod btusb$ sudo modprobe btusbThen, I was immediately able to pair my earbuds, and it has worked flawlessly since then. One other time, I had to repeat the above procedure of removing and reinserting the kernel mod (i.e., rmmod & modprobe). I am not sure how often I will need to do this. I would rather it be automatic (hence 4-start instead of 5-start), but this is good enough for me to get a modern Bluetooth adapter with a longer range antenna for a modern Linux (Ubuntu 24.04) installation.I do see these messages in dmesg output, but they have not interfered with operation yet:$ sudo dmesg | grep Bluetooth...[51256.492155] Bluetooth: hci0: corrupted SCO packet[52351.293090] Bluetooth: hci0: corrupted SCO packet[52494.207870] Bluetooth: hci0: SCO packet for unknown connection handle 2...[53038.002597] Bluetooth: hci0: corrupted SCO packet[53057.122772] Bluetooth: hci0: corrupted SCO packet[53092.978383] Bluetooth: hci0: SCO packet for unknown connection handle 3[54413.474523] input: EarFun Air Pro 4 (AVRCP) as /devices/virtual/input/input37[54571.233044] Bluetooth: hci0: corrupted SCO packet[55758.163881] Bluetooth: hci0: corrupted SCO packet[55910.874148] Bluetooth: hci0: corrupted SCO packet[55935.984047] Bluetooth: hci0: corrupted SCO packet[56067.109316] Bluetooth: hci0: SCO packet for unknown connection handle 5[56167.360343] Bluetooth: hci0: corrupted SCO packetI am able to remove and reinsert this USB adapter without having to remove and reinsert the kernel module, which makes me hopeful that it will be a good long term solution. I was thrilled to upgrade my desktop with this USB Bluetooth adapter. The promise of 328 feet of wireless range had me dreaming of seamless connectivity for my headphones, keyboard, and mouse. What I got instead was a lesson in dashed expectations.Right out of the box, I noticed the adapter felt cheap. The plastic casing seemed flimsy, but I shrugged it off, thinking maybe the magic was in the tech inside. Installation was relatively straightforward, but that’s where the positives ended. The first time I connected my headphones, I noticed the audio cutting out. I thought maybe it was interference, so I moved closer to my PC. How close, you ask? Less than 10 feet. Ten. Feet. And it still couldn’t maintain a stable connection. So much for 328 feet of range.Next, I tried my Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. The lag was unbearable. Every keystroke and mouse movement had a noticeable delay. It felt like I was typing through molasses. And don’t even think about using multiple devices at once. The adapter seemed to have a meltdown trying to manage more than one connection. And let’s talk about stability. The adapter randomly disconnected several times throughout the day. I’d be in the middle of work, only to find my mouse frozen or my headphones suddenly silent. Restarting the connection every hour is not what I signed up for.The icing on the cake? This adapter claims to support Windows 11, but it caused my system to glitch. After installing the drivers, I experienced random freezes and crashes, forcing me to uninstall and revert to my old setup. The product description feels like a work of fiction. If you need reliable Bluetooth for your desktop, look elsewhere. This adapter is a short-range, unstable headache in a USB form. Save your time, money, and sanity.
