This product is well made, substantial, easy to read, and very sturdy. I especially like that the cutter can be set in a ridge to keep it up tight against the straight edge, so it will not go off track, and yet even though it is secured, it can be easily moved. Shipping was well boxed and arrivedin great condition. Great job Logan.

I just used this to bevel cut my first matt board opening to frame a photograph. It was very easy to use and worked great. I watched the company's youtube video and it couldn't have been easier to accurately bevel cut the board. Can't beat it for the price.

After practice on at least three mattes to learn how to use this beveled matte system, it works perfectly as I am preparing for a show of my drawings. The archival mattes fit perfectly with museum quality! The best matte system for framing I have ever found.

I’ve been working on some art projects recently including framing them myself and this mat board cutting system is awesome! I don’t understand why framing stores charge an arm and leg! It’s not that hard. The key is to make sure you’re always using a super sharp blade! As always double and triple check your measurements before cutting and make sure the diagonal cutting blade is in the correct orientation for your final look. If you plan to do several projects this is an essential tool!

Great product making it easy to cut out picture mounts. Read the instructions and you can't go wrong.

This works quite well if you want to cut a modest number of mats for yourself. It does take a little strength (my husband could make cuts the first time, but I often had to go over cuts twice). It can also be easier to make good cuts if you have someone else hold the straight edge--a team effort. :-D I recommend cutting two practice mats before cutting one you want to keep. With a little practice, you'll get very pleasing results.

This works great for your typical mat width, but not on the thicker mats. You set the depth of the cut by adjusting the screw, and in order to make a deep enough cut to slice through the thicker mats the screw pokes out of the base of the blade contraption and digs a gouge into the mat while you cut. The gouged paper is on the back of the mat so it doesn't show much where it matters, but since you want to ensure a smooth cut done right on the first pass it's still a bad design flaw. And the thicker mat boards are not cheap, so little imperfections can be really disappointing.Other than that, I found it relatively easy to use even for big jobs, and it's a good way to save money on framing. The last custom mat I'd had made at a professional framing shop (for a 9"x11" opening in a 16"x20" frame) cost me $40 and was not even done very well. With the Logan 440-1 I was able to make a 13"x20" opening in a 22"x28" mat pretty easily. I'd recommend checking out their YouTube tutorial before (and while) you use it.

This is a truly great product! It is easy to use as long as you measure accurately! It is VERY easy to get professional results and it pays for itself in only one use! The cost for having something professionally matted is crazy...this is a wonderful tool for anyone wanting to do their own framing! I recommend it highly! (By the way, I've used this product for over ten years...I purchased it a second time after my first one was lost in a move, that's how much I like it!)

I found the instructions helpful and could start using the cutters immediately. I did not expect this and it was very encouraging. I was disappointed however, in terms of the blade performance on mount board. I realise that even, firm pressure is required when cutting this type of material but I didn't think that the blades coped at all despite the many attempts to perfect. Initially I thought I was trying to cut a large scale mount too early and so tried a smaller scale mount, but still the finish was not as professional as I had hoped. Even when I thought I had achieved the perfect cut, there were areas that the blade had not cut through and on removing the centre which was to be discarded the card tore the outer paper of the outside mount - very frustrating. I am sure that the system will work fine with thinner materials but mount board is listed in this product's capabilities.
