So after spending many hours trying to find a lock that would make a door that’s not intended to be used as a main entrance a main entrance, which in this case it is, came across this. Installation was fairly straight forward and did require some modification of the frame, which I expected. The one thing that was really troubling in all this was the screws sent to attach both sides of the lock together were not the correct size to fit into the machined holes and needed to get different ones. It want that they were too short they were the wrong thickness (mm) for the machined holes: very weird. Other than that it works great and looks good. Hopefully it holds up.

now that its in we love it. I installed it on my mobile home slider. There was just enough room for it and I nicked the glass when I drilled the holes and shattered it. The replacement was $200. I was able to install the lock; having to modify the catch plate too. It is a game changer-no more keys!!!!!

I can’t be counted on to not lose my keys so this lock has made my life so much easier. It works like a charm and it looks nice as well. A purchase I would make again.

We purchased a home where the primary entrance was a sliding glass door. This is a great option where you prefer not to use a key! We did have to add a piece of wood as a shim, because our frame was too deep. But that was easy enough. The code is changeable, but not easy. If you need a lock where you frequently need to change the code, this is not the best solution. If you want consistent keyless access, it’s an excellent solution.

I was a little worried about the product and the effectiveness of it. This lock is absolutely perfect for patio doors. So easy to install, comes with a hole drilling template, all the screws needed. Instructions are not that great but anyone who is handy at all will not have a issue installing it. The lock is solid and a really heavy metal. Works fantastic and easy to change the code as well. The only thing I did differently is instead of using their provided screws on the lock mount that would mount to the inside door jamb is I used 4 inch stainless screws so the 2 screws would go through the jamb and into the wood framing behind the jamb. This provides a really good hold and would make it very very difficult to break this lock and access the home. I love the look and would definitely recommend this lock.

I like it! Arrived yesterday - installed today. Now I've got the secure lock I needed on my sliding glass door. Works smoothly. I set the combo to numbers of my choice so it's easy for me to remember. Something to pay attention to: before you tighten everything down, make sure the turning mechanism moves smoothly. I used 2 of the spacers on the inside the house side of the opener, to make sure the deadbolt lines up with the surface strike plate well. After you mount the main locking mechanism inside & out, experiment with locating the "surface strike plate" so it matches well with the deadbolt, and that it's far enough away from the digital lock so there isn't slack in the door being able to open a little even when it's locked - don't want the door to be ajar enough to let outside air in when the locking mechanism is locked.And I made the hole a little bigger that the "spindle" goes through (in the middle hole) so it would turn smoothly (I didn't quite make it big enough when I first drilled it). I really like that this lock is mechanical - no batteries to change. I recommend it.

I would give this 4.5 stars if I could...The installation manual is pretty vague and even confusing. I spent a good deal of time studying the mechanism and how it would fit on the frame of our sliding door. I wound up simply using the rubber mounting gasket as a template guide for positioning the mechanism on the frame. I used 1/4" drill bit to drill through the frame for the mounting screws and the knob shaft, with barely enough margin to keep from hitting the actual glass frame. This is a very narrow sliding patio door frame.I had to use all three supplied shims on the interior side mechanism to clear the frame's jamb. The shims are black, so on the white door, and with the white finish of the lock mechanisms, the black shims really stick out. I really wish the manufacturer would provide shims that match the color of the mechanism. Maybe I'll paint the exposed edges of the shims with white enamel paint when I have some time.Once the lock mechanism is securely mounted to the door frame it's time to mount the strike plate. Again, there are supplied black plastic shims, but I needed more thickness for the shim and wound up making a custom shim of the exact depth required from some white PVC board. This required some work, as the door frame is not exactly square to the lock so I had to do a bit of sanding and planning of the strike plate shim to allow the lock to engage properly.With the strike plate mounted and aligned, the new lock was fully operational. Now comes the challenge of re-keying the code. Here the supplied instructions are extremely vague, bordering on useless. I first attempted to rely on the supplied instructions and pretty much wasted an hour of my time. Do yourself a favor...put the supplied instructions aside and go here for a video explanation:[...]Everything is now operating perfectly and I am VERY pleased with this purchase. Note that the knobs are quite tall, and on my installation, the outside knob clears the sliding screen by a mere 1/16"!It's great to be able to use the back door now and easily lock and unlock when coming and going. No more keys to carry in my pocket and I feel this product will provide years of reliable service and security!PROThe mechanism is extremely well made.CONThe information in the installation manual is rather poorly written and confusing, making this an unnecessarily difficult install.Some creative customization for the install will probably be required. All doors are different!Black shims supplied stick out like a sore thumb against the white finishIf you want to change the code in the future, a removal and disassembly is required to access the keying mechanism.All told, this installation took me about 3 hours, but I am happy with the result!
