About The Locator Core Tool and How to Use It

LOCATOR 3-IN-1 Core Tool

  • The Removal Tool Tip is used to engage and remove the Male from the Denture Cap.
  • The Seating Tool is used to seat the LOCATOR Male.
  • The ANCHOR Driver with the Abutment Holder Sleeve carries the Abutment securely and places it onto the implant.

Very Easy to Use. Follow these steps to utilize the 3-in-1 Locator Core Tool:

  • Loosen the Removal End of the Core Tool. You will see a visible gap between the removal tool and seating tool.
  • Insert the Removal Tool Tip into the Denture Assembly and push straight into the Male. Tilt the tool so that the sharp edge of the tip will grip the Male and pull it out of the Denture Cap.
  • Once the Male is removed proceed to point the tool down and away from you. Tighten the Removal Tool Clockwise back onto the Core Tool. This will disengage the Male from the tip of the Removal Tool
  • Separate the Removal Tool part of the Locator Core Tool. Use the Seating Tool to place a new Male into the empty Denture Cap

An absolutely fantastic instrument. Read the directions a couple of times first. It is very easy and fast to remove and replace the studs with this tool. My dentist will never get another $125 from me for this service.

All my dental records were lost when my dentist went out of business during the pandemic so I had no idea what brand my denture implants were. The retainers had long ceased to 'retain' anything and I was using dabs of denture adhesive to get by.I was getting quotes from $700 to $900 to send them to 'the lab' for a week to have them 'repaired'. This seemed way out of line to me so I did my research and found mine to be the legacy Zest Locator system with black inserts.I ordered the Zest legacy tool for $94 and the Amazon clear locator set (5 lb) for $30. I watched the product tutorial video for this tool and was able to perform the replacement of 4 inserts in about 3 minutes. Total cost $124 and about 10 minutes total including learning how to use the tool.I dinged it a couple stars on the 'Value' scale. I own professional tools and expect to pay much more for the quality, however, this is about 40% higher than it needs to be.Now if I can just learn how to fill cavities...

First off I am not a dentist. With that being said I want to give my review. I have a 4 post denture, I go in about twice a year to have my male inserts replaced and even with insurance it cost me $150 out of pocket. I researched and found the locator tool and male inserts. I bought and watched the video and did what he did. Guess what. . . It work perfectly. So now in the future this will cost me $30.for the inserts. Oh and through the search I found that there aWas different strengths available. I went with the purple or 8 lbs male insert, I can notice a big difference right of the bat. So again I will say that I am not a dentist. Learning a new skill was Exciting.

The Locator Core Tool is vert well made. I had ordered the Locator Core Tool, and the Locator Male Replacement Caps that I needed from Amazon. I have four post on top and four on the bottom. I watched the video because this is the first time that the nylon caps have been replaced so I had not seen my dentist do it. I changed all 8 caps in less than 10 minutes, and it was so easy. I saved myself not only money, but my time as well. I can replace the caps when ever I need to without the hassle of having to schedule an appointment and go into the office. I love the independence of being able to do it my self.

It works really well for replacing the nylon cups, not so much for removing them, I had to take my old cups out with a pick, I have not used any of the other things it can do, yes, the tool is well made and I would buy again

Works great, some caps are very difficult to remove. When that happens it's time for new metal housing. But this handy little tool will save so much money when you simply need new retention caps.

Perfect tool if you have the Locator type/brand abutments and male cups in your overdentures. I watched a brief video posted by LearnLODI on Youtube and it took about a minute to change my male cups. Saved over $100 on the initial use and every time I use this after today I'll save over $180 every three months as that's how often I have to change mine. I still visit my dentist every 6 months for cleaning and checkup and I do not recommend you replace your regularly scheduled dentist visits, but who wants to pay $240+ to have 7 little nylon cups replaced 4 times per year? As far as this tool is concerned, buy the Locator brand tool. It's very well made and super easy to use.

I have been changing out my own locator inserts for 2 years, and have always struggled with getting them out. Putting them in was not much of an ordeal, but using a dental pick to get them out was tiresome. I finally decided to splurge and get the *removal/insertion tool.I just put in a new set of 5# locators and it took all of 30 seconds, maybe a whole minute. The video on this listing was helpful as well. Although I know the process of taking out/putting in, this tool was a dream to use. so smooth and easy. And it came quickly, some of the other sellers might be cheaper, but the wait time on shipping was much longer. Thanks again for a great tool and video presentation!!

It does not pull the old nylon inserts. Watch video 3 times and follow. Still did not pull old nylon insert. I don't mind the price if working. In the video it looks like there is a suction if you unscrew the tip before pulling. The one that I received does not do that and nosuction at all unless its missing a part inside the tip.
