Had to be modified to work, I expected that. I did not, however, expect the part to destroy its self the first time I attempted to use it! It wasn't even under load and the bearing came loose from the body and fell out! There's no method of bearing retention other than interference fit, which might have been enough, if it properly fit! Basically I will just build my own and not waste anymore money or time with anything made in China!

I didn't buy this for a lathe and don't really even know if it would work for any such equipment. I got this to turn my drill press into a simple turning station to sand dowels. So the M12x1 threading was a hurdle to make that work. Before this, I didn't realize that M12x1 is a unique size bolt that isn't carried everywhere. In fact, you can't find it on Amazon, where you can find ANYTHING... I had to get one from BelMetric, which more than doubled the cost of this. But at less than $25 for the total setup, it has worked exactly as I had hoped. Just be aware of that if you are thinking of using this for something other than a lathe that is already set up with the correct thread.
