The cake board and straws were great. Only thing is I would have loved for the wooden sticks to have been taller. My cakes are tall so I had to buy taller wooden sticks. But overall great purchase.

I made a 3 tiered wedding cake for my sisters wedding, it was my first time making a cake with any tiering. After YouTube-educating myself on how to use the dowels and boards, everything turned out amazing!! Cake was beautiful and this product was exactly what I needed at a decent price. My advice is don’t skimp on using the dowels, I was trying to be sparing and ended up having one layer a teensy-bit lopsided, but that was my fault and not the product’s. I would 100% buy this exact product again if anyone asked me to make another cake! I used the 6, 8 and 10 inch boards with three pans of cakes per layer for about 60 guests with plenty of leftovers.

There is so much provided in this kit and while I'm not a pro, it sure makes me feel like I know what I'm doing and so far, the results have been great! I especially love the parchment paper for baking - honestly didn't realize that was thing when I first started this adventure to bake my son's wedding cake. The event will be in another 2 weeks and I've practiced just about every week for the last two months, using this kit! It sure made this novices job easier. I'll post a picture of the final product when done.

I chose this set because I needed a quick delivery. The boards are glossy and the glossy side seemed to do ok with buttercream, but the edges picked up greasiness very quickly. I haven't used the wooden dowels yet, but they seem sturdy. Straws worked well, I like that they came in a zip top bag.
