Like these little 1" pad holders as an option for the 1 1/2" holders. I still run the 1 1/2' roll lock pads on these and it lets you get close into corners without damaging the rubber around the perimeter. Rubber seems like a good quality.

If you are sanding rust off the deck of the Titanic, these will probably work. But the pad is not concentric with the arbor that makes precision work difficult.
