Had to work on a bolt for days trying to get it out. This tool kit made it come out within minutes. Make sure to use a hand tool to turn the easy out and you’ll be golden. Great product!

3 of 9 bolts were sheered off on my 2014 Ram 1500 5.7 hemi. I wouldn’t dare attempt to remove them without using this kit. All 3 bolts extracted without a problem. I did break all 4 of the 1/8” bits, and had to get several more to complete the job. A right angle drill is needed to get most of them out.I would recommend buying an aftermarket exhaust manifold from BD Diesel. They are way stronger and won’t warp after another 20-30k miles like the MOPAR manifolds. Also use the Remflex gasket and you likely won’t have a problem ever again.

While kit has nice guider to drill out snapped exhaust manifold bolt, drill bit themself are not good. I followed instruction and drilled 5-10 second with proper lubricant and they snapped, I didn’t applied any pressure. After I opened the plate and the screw sunken in the head deeper. And went and got left handed drill set and it backed the screw out about 1/4 inch above the head. I was able to grab with pliers and extracted that way. Provided extractor with the kit didn’t grab, I was lucky that left handed drill but backed screw out. Wasted 4 hours to drill and go back to the store to get different drill bits!

Only used it to make sure I got drill bit centered on broken stud, and get hole started. After that I was able to drill hole deep enough without guide and used a stubby nosed extractor to remove broken stud. Not a easy job, but was able to do myself. I figured it a expensive tool but cheaper than paying someone else to do the job. I bought it before I removed manifolds and was extremely lucky in that I only needed it to remove one broken stud that was flush with the head on engine. If you look at YouTube videos on subject, if you have a mig welder , it's way much easier to weld a nut on broken stud.

I figured it a expensive tool but cheaper than paying someone else to do the job. Prinzipiell eine gute Sache, die Schablone ist wirklich passgenau, die Zentrierer auch, die Bohrer jedoch sind billig und nicht zu gebrauchen. Baumarktqualität, man braucht aber Hartmetallbohrer, da die Bolzen zu hart für diese Bohrer sind. Aufbohren unmöglich. Letztlich hab ich es nur geschafft, weil ein Nachbar Hartmetallbohrer hatte. Krümmer ist dran. Für den Preis erwarte ich einfach taugliches Material. Vor allen Dingen, wo erhalte ich solche Bohrer im nichtmetrischen Mass, also in Zoll? Die aus dem Set jedenfalls sind alle kaputt.

The kit was reasonably priced and everything you need. Fixture lined up perfectly with the existing holes and the bushings were a great fit in the fixture. Drill bits were of good quality, but the extractor was questionable.I had (3) bolts broken off flush, one on the passenger side and two on the drivers side.Driver’s side were both front bolts. Had to buy a pneumatic right angle drill and it did the trick. I read dozens of posts on YouTube that said to weld a nut to the stud and back it out. Not all of us has a welding machine at home. It took me (2) days total and that included taking the manifolds to my shop and milling then flat.

Although I didn't use the product as the studs came out of the head (Ram 5.7L Hemi) just fine. This is a quality product with no surprises. It will help the faint of heart to do this tricky job.

Made drilling out the broken exhaust manifold bolts a really straightforward task. The only reason why I didn’t give a 5 star is because the 1/8” drill bits that come with the kit are absolute garbage. I was making very little progress, about 1/4” into the bolt in an hour drilling, then I switched to a 1/8” DeWalt Cobalt bit and boom! Got through the bolt in about 20 seconds.I used ATF as the cooling oil and drilled for 10 seconds at a time, blowing out the hole after each 10 second increment. Patience is critical.Do yourself a favor, and get a real nice 1/8” cobalt bit to get the job done quickly.Overall, awesome product. Thanks Lisle!

This is an exceptional product! I used it to drill out a broken off manifold bolt on a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500, 5.7 hemi.I tried welding a nut on the end and twisting it out, but that failed multiple times.I tried drilling and then tapping a torks bit, but that failed as well.The only thing that worked was using this guide to precisely drill out the remaining, broken off bolt.I read other reviews about the bits contained in this kit breaking... The key to keeping the bit and material cool is thread cutting oil, along with following the 5-8 second drilling increments.High quality drilling guide and kit. Everything I used in the kit worked great. I used the manifold guide, drill bit, drill bit guide, and locking screw. I already had a set of taps, so I didn't use the ones in the kit.
