These tools work well, better than a wrench or pliers. Sometimes I use two of them back to back to pry against each other. Wish I would have had these years ago.

These work extremely well for what they are designed for. I have fought the "new" style push in air lines for years and would fuss and cuss trying to get them a part. These tools from Lisle make that job almost effortless now. I highly recommend the Lisle 42400 air line disconnect set, I can't believe I waited so long to purchase these.

This airline disconnect set is awesome in my field as a commercial transport mechanic as mostly all vehicles have some more of push to connect airlines and sometimes without the proper tool they can be a pain to remove. I wish company would have a better description and picture of the tools cause I original thought there were these cheap plastic disconnect tool and ended up ordering them hoping for the best. They are made of steel and will deffinatly last awhile. Would recommend for anyone working with push to connect fittings

You could use a pair of pliers to push down on the collet of a fitting, but nothing beats having this tool, which is especially designed for it. Because while you can use a substitute, when you find yourself in an impossibly tight area trying to remove a 3/8 line from a firewall pass-through with a giant bundle of other airlines in the way, you're going to be thrilled when this reduces the task to a 10-second job. I just disconnected such a line with this tool, then used 90°-offset long-reach needlenose pliers to yank the collet off, and picks to remove the o-ring, and picks to install the new o-ring and then put everything back together! Job was done in a minute, which is a lot faster than I expected. And that's thanks to this tool. And P.S. all of those leaks on your firewall pass-through and another quick-connect fittings are probably due to bad o-rings, not bad brass fittings. Save yourself 90% of the replacement cost and change the o-rings.

Solid construction, they hold up well even with brass fittings. Short enough not to get hung up on things around the fittings but long enough to fit comfortably in the hand. These tools work as advertised, fit really well around the lines and are easy to use. They can also work well pulling the pin for the slack adjusters on brakes.

Good tool, I work on refuse trucks so we do allot of air brake work, they’re good if you don’t feel like buying those pliers with all the springs and what not. They’re a little more difficult because they don’t pull the line out for you but they’re well worth it combined with curved hose pliers if you ask me.
