If you don’t have a magnetic surface to attach the light to, our camper step light also comes with an adhesive-backed metal plate for attachment on non-magnetic surfaces.The Lippert RV step light is ideal for mounting onto your RV stairs. When the power switch is in the ON position, the motion detector will trigger the camper step light to illuminate when movement is detected in the surrounding area. It will turn on for 15 seconds before shutting off if no further activity is detected. The built-in light sensor will turn on the light only at night and will not activate during daylight hours, which helps extend the life of your batteries. In the OFF position, this RV stair light will not activate, regardless of lighting conditions or movement.

Not mentioned anywhere in listing that this is powered by 6AA batteries. Listing this as an RV light would make an assumption that it's 12 volt powered by the RV.. just a magnetic LED battery powered light. Returning item

Well after having these for a few weeks I quickly learned they are not as great as I had originally thought. I noticed the light on and would not shut off. I had to physically remove the batteries on both units to get it to shut off.

They're a little pricey, but it will be worth it if lasts for a long time. It appears to be well made and is heavier than the cheaper one I had before. It's great that it included the metal stick on mounting piece, in case your mounting surface is aluminum.

We put these outside on our RV steps, they work great and do not attract bugs.We also put one inside for our cat box so it can be scooped at night without a bright light but yet enough enough light to see the litter box and the litter.
