  • Each kit comes with two Straptek brackets and polyester straps.

  • Works with every weight distribution hitch system on the market except for E-qual-izer systems.

Straptek Weight Tension Technology Revolutionizes the ease and safety of adjusting your weight distribution hitch system while dramatically improving sway control! Straptek simplifies weight distribution hitch systems for trailers by employing a ratchet winch and heavy-duty polyester straps instead of traditional chains and snap-up brackets. Straptek allows users to safely adjust weight distribution spring bars on their trailer with a standard socket wrench. It also provides sway control and is compatible with most weight distribution hitch systems. Standard weight distribution systems (WDS) require raising the tow vehicle with a manual jack over and over in order to get the right tension. Straptek adjusts by simply tightening or loosening the heavy-duty polyester straps with a standard socket wrench, saving time and energy. Standard WDS spring bars can bear hundreds of pounds of built-up pressure. When unhooking a trailer, an RVer must eventually unlatch the snap up chains using a lifting accessory. If too much tension remains on the spring bars, they can snap back and cause serious injury. Straptek does away with chains and can be adjusted and readjusted using our easy-to-use ratchet and winch system. A standard WDS system requires at least 7-1/2 inches of extra chain between the snap-up hook and the spring bar. Straptek's low-profile design reduces the pendulum length by about half, providing increased sway control. Straptek reduces the anxiety that comes with the dangerous trailer movement sometimes allowed by traditional chain and bracket systems.

We have used these for 5 years and have about 50,000 miles on them. Always work. Easy to attach the Blue Ox 1500 pounds SwayPro bars. When we bought our new trailer in Jan. 2025, I briefly tried to use the Blue Ox tensioners. What a mistake! So glad I didn't break an arm! Promptly reinstalled the Straptek. My wife can hitch up the trailer with them. Minimal sway even in 30+ mph direct crosswinds. The only negative is the dot markings have faded.

All aspects of this product exceeded my expectations.Units are very heavy duty and well made, install easily, quiet and much faster to hook up, and a lot easier to fine tune weight distribution.I am using with a 1000 lb. Eaz Lift chain type hitch with sway bar at a 900 lb. pin weight on my F150. A socket and 18" breaker bar work well for adjustment. Should work well for women RV trailer users making hookup quicker with much less effort. Been on two camping trips to test with great results. Sharp turns while backing seems to be no problem. Highly recommend.

The quality of these unit is horrendous. The first set I got has two brackets that were both the passenger side. I contacted Lippert and they refused to help. They said I had to have purchased them from a authorized reseller not Amazon. The problem with that is literally if you go from Lippert website to purchase the Straptek (as I did) its brings you to Lipperts Amazon store page! I purchased them from the seller Lippert so not sure why with a receipt three levels of CS folks in the chassis division refused to help. Buyer beware that warranty issues in my experience have been a nightmare, even with proper documentation!Amazon ended up setpping up and helped me get a replacement (again sold my Lippert directly) and this set is of a new design. For one no longer do they imprint the dots so it is far more difficult to get them even. The straps are no longer detachable, if you sway bars can’t easily be detached, be aware that you will have to leave them outside going forward. The more critical is the new brackets teeth don’t align properly. One side aligns partially, the other not at all. The more tention on the bars, the worse it gets. Right now my second set is completely unsafe and even aligned the best I can they popped under load. I was dragging one swag bar at every ditch all the way home with no sway control.

They work great but....When I received the kit I noticed that on one of the units both gears were not fully engaging the locking pawl. This meant that only one of the gears was holding the strap's tension and seemed very unsafe. I contacted Lippert who told me to deal with Amazon for a replacement. I'm sure Amazon would have come through but I was leaving on a trip in a few days. I ended up removing the gear on one side and reinstalling it rotated 180 degrees. It worked! Everything was now as it was supposed to be but I was a little put off by such a glaring quality and safety issue. In use I absolutely love the Straptek system. Hooking and unhooking the trailer is now much faster and safer. This is great for us because we often stop at a new campsite every day and want unhook to tour around. Installed on a Blue Ox hitch we now have a very quiet and easily adjustable setup. I'm pretty sure that we also experience slightly less sway.I paid less than half of the current price on sale and feel that I got a good deal. I don't know if I'd be so happy if I had to pay full price. It is a very simple system that the full price does not reflect especially since it doesn't include a wrench. I bought an extendable 1/2" ratchet and socket which works great and stores nicely.

UPDATE: less than a year since I purchased these and as I posted in my original review the little generic looking piece of wire has already failed and broke after just a few camping trips. I reached out to Customer support and have yet to receive a response. Great idea...poor mechanism and even worse customer service. Look elsewhere. If they get back with me and take care of this I will update my review accordingly. For now I’m downgrading my 3 star review to a 1 Star.ORIGINAL REVIEW: Seems sturdy and well made. Except for the bolt that you turn is held on by a little piece of wire. Mine came as clearly used. It looked as if the items had been dragged behind a truck for about 10 miles and then thrown in the box with no instructions. The integrity of the metal still seems to be intact albeit scratched up terribly which will likely lead to rusting. Disappointed in the condition I’ve clearly been given a returned set which annoys me. I will update this review if I have any trouble. If everything holds up well this will certainly beat the chains and having to jack my truck up with my electric tongue jack

This makes my least favorite part of packing up the travel trailer simple. In order to get enough tension on the weight distribution bars I was really working the tongue jack and fighting to get the chains as tight as possible. Two weeks into a three week trip, I had these shipped to a campground. Install was easy. It didn't come with any instructions, but there isn't much to it. There is a short video on YouTube and Lippert has directions on their website. The straps have a hook on the end vice the triangle shown and a loop is sewn into the end of the straps, so they cant be removed from the ratcheting mechanism. I've found that it's easiest to put the hitch on the trailer ball and tighten the straps before raising the tongue jack off the ground. I noticed less sway when big rigs pass me on the highway. Lippert says it's not necessary, but I continued to use my friction sway controller after installing the straps. Wish I would have found these sooner. They are well made and are rated for a ridiculous amount of weight. I can't remember the specs, but they are on tags sewn into the straps and it's more than any hitch would be rated for.

Awesome product, easy to set up, easier and safer to tension the weight distribution bars, and does help a lot with trailer sway.

Update; excellent, updated to 5 stars.can't give a 5 as I haven't had them in use..Reading some of the reviews I was a bit concerned about quality issues.II received the item 1 week earlier than expected and it was boxed appropriately.I first inspected the ratchet system as in some reviews this was an issue. Looks like everything is lined up and worked fine.Is well constricted, cannot see any issues in the future.I purchased this as I have always hated the chain link adjustment...this will provide a more accurate tension setup.

This product works great easy to install, adjust, the only thing i would like to see on it is a lock mechanism on the strap teeth just for peace of mind also they could be made to sit a little higher up on the frame, when the straps are tightened up you only have about an inch or two hanging down, also could include new u bolts for the load bars other than that they are great.

I bought this kit to use on my 32' Forest River TT towed by my Mercedes ML350 tdi. Yes, it can handle it just fine, thank you. Problem with the Straptek, however. When I tried to hook it up, all went well until I put tension on the straps. The left side ratchet failed, allowing the bar to snap down suddenly. It would have hurt a lot if my foot had been under it! The ratchet system appears to be faulty, as the pawls do not engage on both sides at the same time, a manufacturing defect. To date, Lippert has not corrected the problem, only wanted to know where I bought it, which was Camping World. CW doesn't know anything about the product. I'm still working to get a new, properly assembled left side ratchet and strap. If I get it, I think I will carry my old chain system with me for a while - just in case.I am not worried about the straps, they can handle 20 times the load. And I like the simplicity of it - if it works as advertised, I will be a "happy camper".
