Mixing LiME LiNE Bascoats
Clear Basecoat
Pour out the amount of basecoat needed to complete your project. Keep in mind the reducer will double what's in your paint cup.
Additive
Types of Additives
- Candy concentrate
- Pearl powder
- Metal Flake
- Colored Pigment
Urethane Reducer
You will need to reduce your mixture to make it spray smooth through your paint gun or airbrush.
Mix in reducer 1:1 (50/50)
Note: This is not a hard rule add more reducer for smaller tip spray guns or airbrushes.
Mix
Mix thoroughly using a reusable stir stick.

Candy Paint Spray Process
1st coat
- Approximately 50% coverage
- Allow to dry (flash off)
2nd coat
- Approximately 75% coverage
- Allow to dry 5-10 minutes
3rd coat
- 100% coverage
- Apply more coats if need to achieve full coverage and more depth
- Wait 10-20 before clearcoat
Clearcoat
- 3-4 coats of clearcoat
- Allow to dry overnight

Good quality intercoat clear. I have used several quarts spraying metal flake, pearls. Dries fast and no runs or sags like if you use regular clear. Good quality product.

I was under the impression I was getting a intercoat clear. I was told by another paint supplier this is a binder for paints not to be used as a stand alone clearcoat.I did try to use it as a clearcoat and had a bad reaction with by graphics I was wanting to cover. Now I have an $80 can of product I not really sure what it is. Couldn't get any response through email. I will go back to a different supplier next time.

Hands down the best stuff I mixed it with there lime green pigment and it mixed really nice and sprayed smooth! Good job guys at lime line, only complaint is I wish they put like 5 stickers in the box I love the sticker y’all sent with it thank yall awesome product

This is the only clear basecoat I will use for spraying candy paints. Lime line is an excellent product and great company to work with. Forever a customer.

I've been using this as a suspending clear to mix pearl base coats. It mixes well so far with medium HET reducer and lays down a very nice and even base color. It holds the pearls very nicely. Top coat with Nason 498 and the product has proven to be of very good quality
