This blanket is odd. I had ordered my daughter a cooling blanket that looked similar to this one and she loves it, so I wanted one for my bed. This one seems like it was made with the same cooling idea as my daughter's, but poorly executed. The outside material is very smooth and slinky and seems cooling, but it is heavy and has a lot of fiber fill. It doesn't stay puffed up away from the body like my daughter's, it lays heavy on the body and traps in body heat. My daughter's is cloud-like, this one is floppy and bulky. It's so weird because this blanket feels cool to the touch, but it overheats where it lays on my body. I get super hot within seconds but when I move to another spot, it's cool again until my body heats it up. It's hotter than a regular comforter. I guess I'll stick with my cotton quilt for hot nights.

I was excited to try this as someone who lives in the heart of Texas, where summer typically starts at the end of March and continues into late October. The duvet on my bed is strictly for aesthetics and gets kicked off before my partner and I sleep because we both sleep hot.The fabrics say Nylon and Bamboo blend all up and through the ad, and I have a few sets of bamboo sheets and eucalyptus sheets. Outside of silk, that's what I prefer to sleep in because they're lightweight and breathable and regulate body temperature in a way that keeps you cool and comfortable. When I got this, I liked the packaging, but when I looked at the label, I was disappointed to see that this duvet has about a pinch of bamboo and the rest is polyester. I don't even like to wear polyester because it insulates heat so much and makes me sweat. On top of that, this is essentially just a thin duvet. The fabric feels nice when we made the bed, and when we were lounging on top of it before getting under it, we were both comfortable. Still, about midway through the night, when sleeping under it, I woke up sweaty, and my man was tossing and turning until one leg and both arms were free from the duvet. I tried to tough it out, but when I woke up for the third time and my back was sweaty, I ended up kicking it off the end of the bed, and we both slept better after. This is going to be moved into our linen closet for when we have guests spending the night and they want an extra layer on the bed for the guest room.
