Dietz is a well known name in the manufacture of oil and kerosene lamps. I remember using lamps like this when camping with the Boy Scouts as a kid, and I remember my grandmother owning several. This lamp looks and works just like I remember. It provides soft, warm light that is adjustable in brightness by raising or lowering the wick. It is great for ambiance, but I would limit it to outdoor use during the summer because of the heat it puts out. We use ours as decoration on our mantle, but we keep it filled with oil because it comes in handy during power outages.

This is just a good old fashioned kerosene lantern that works as well today as 125 years ago. Not only does it look nice but it has turned out to be very useful during out monsoon power outages. It's well made and should last just as long as the originals. As a bonus it comes with plenty of wicks to keep you going for a long time.

Quality materials well made smooth function glass lift and easy fill. Has 9 candle power, 9 ounces of fuel will run for 12 hours. Comes with 6 - 5/8ths wide wicks. The general quality is superior to much of the less expensive lanterns on the market which are susceptible to leaking, fragile glass, poor working mantles. The Black and Gold combo is particularly attractive. It will light up a 12'x12' room, or makes a good light circle when camping.So why just 4 stars. The price from this purveyor is not competitive.

I love having decorations that are also useful. This lamp looks great as a decoration, but in the event of a power outage it is also functional, so it is a win-win for me. It comes with extra wicks, so all that you need is lamp oil to make it work. I love that it goes so well with my farmhouse aesthetic.

I LOVE this vintage style oil lamp....it's just like the ones my grandparents had for outdoor evening gatherings and domino games, camping, and family reunions. The look is exactly the same, and brings back great memories.The quality is top notch....the metal used is just like I remember, sturdy and well made. It's lightweight when not full of oil, and it's made to sit on the ground, on a table top, or to hang. The oil reservoir holds 9oz of lamp oil and is secured safely with a screw on cap.The brightness of this lamp varies according to my needs, and how high the wick is. I always light mine and let it "take", then lower it to my lighting needs, and to keep it from smoking. It's very simple to operate, and comes with a manual.This is perfect for indoor or outdoor use during power outages or just for ambience. It's great for camping, outdoor parties and gatherings and anywhere light is needed. Excellent, high quality lamp. Great product.

This is made out of thin metal. It feels lighter than it looks. The materials could have been a bit sturdier. I do like the way it looks but I'm concerned with the longevity of the product. Overall it seems a bit expensive for what it is, but I do enjoy these old fashioned type of products and happy they are still being produced.
