About this item

  • Underwater mounting setup for Light & Motion Sidekick lights
  • Flexible 1/4" locline places light above camera minimizing lens flare and backscatter underwater for clean, crisp imagery
  • The most compact camera/light setup for diving and snorkeling
  • Simple mounting interface, locline also doubles as a handle while filming
  • Mounting hardware included, requires Sidekick bolt/extender included with light

The Sidekick dive arm kit by Light & Motion is a vital accessory to take the Sidekick light underwater for epic footage. By placing the light away from the camera lens, lens flare and backscatter from reflections and particles are minimized. The 1/4 inch locline also doubles as a convenient handle for filming. This is the most compact light/camera system available for divers and is compatible with both the Sidekick Duo and Flood models. Includes all mounting hardware to safely secure the light to the flex line - will require Sidekick extender bolt/spacer that comes standard with light.

I have had two of the arm kits. The first one worked well and I dove with it on my GoPro Hero 3+ for 4-5 years. I had to get a new one when I replaced my GoPro with a newer model and the screws had corroded/stripped on the old one and I couldn't reuse it with the new GoPro 8.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BUY THIS!!! The mount requires you to “snap” the arm to the part mounted to the light. This is an extreme exercise in frustration and not worth the burns on my hand (other users suggested boiling the arm to aide in snapping the parts together). The instructions are terrible. They give you absolutely zero clue on how to connect the two pieces. I don’t know if there is a worse design available but I know this waSN’t worth the cost or the frustration. One star is over rated. POS

Great product! Heat up the end , per instructions, when assembling.

Extremely hard to assemble, but once I used a hairdryer to soften up the links I was able to snap it together. It worked really well as a light for my GoPro in combination with a FLIP4 filter, mounted on a stick. I would recommend, with the caveat that the assembly is not easy, so be prepared!

Excellent and very necessary accessory for the sidekick duo. Without it, I couldn't get the light positioned to fill the whole frame when shooting wide angle. This easy to use little arm allows me to position the light where ever I want, even while wearing dive gloves!

I tried to follow the instructions to put it together. Every step was easy until I got to the last one. The loc-line needed to be connected to the camera. To do this you need to push together two parts which really don't want to come together. Getting past this step took fifteen minutes, a bruise on my hand and a Google search. You have to either buy a tool intended for the process, follow one of the tricks you can find online, or push really hard. I pushed really hard and eventually got the two together.Another problem is that it doesn't hold its position very well. The connection from the arm to the Gopro is not very robust and needs occasional tightening. This might not be an issue for most people since it will hold until it is bumped by something, but it can be an annoyance when diving in surf and kelp.On the plus side, this is about the best way to mount a light to the Gopro for underwater use when it is on a selfie stick. The only real competition with the sidekick for underwater use on the end of a selfie stick is the Knog [qudos] ACTION Video Light for GoPro and the SeaLife Sea Dragon Mini 600 Underwater LED Light which mounts to a Sealife Aquapod. The Knog lacks a dive arm, making backscatter a worse issue. The Sea Dragon Mini is probably a good choice, but would have required me to buy a new selfie stick.
