The hose holder broke while trying to reel in hose. The pull handle is too short and awkward to use. The tires leave a lot to be desired on rough ground.

This hose reel cart did not work for us. This product was actually a box of many, many parts and required far too much DIY for us. Sadly, we did not actually open the box for more than 30 days and did not realize, until it was too late to make a return, that this box of very expensive parts was useless to us.

Much sturdier than others. Defective tire replaced immediately by Liberty. Large capacity reel! Easy to use.

I rarely leave a neutral to negative review, but I had to say something here.- Right out of the gate if you like overpackaging than maybe this is for you, but if you've ever had to someone wrap up Christmas gifts by putting a box inside a box, inside a box, inside a box, this is exactly how you feel unpacking this thing. Instructions do not match but I have seen worse. Honestly a majority of this could have been assembled and fit in the box. This stuff anymore is like using a self checkout. I pay for the stuff and get to do the work of an assembler they don't have to pay for once I get the product.- Half of the instructions are for part of the unit that is already put together so its a win and also very confusing. In the first of the instructions it shows the reel being mounted at one end and then by the end of the instructions its mounted another direction so if your not careful you will have to take it back off and remount it the correct way.- The paint appears that someone dunked it in a tank of paint and let it drip dry prior to shipping and flakes off very easy. Fabrication work I didn't expect a lot but sharp edges and pieced of MIG wire should be ground off before its painted.- The lead hose to hook to your faucet went straight in my trash can. It was flat, and couldn't position it in any way to prevent kinks and folding over- My most grave disappointment is the instructions tell you that you need to inflate the tires with a hand pump. Who has a hand pump anymore?? So now I had to buy a hand pump to put together a purchased product because obviously the weight of air cost too much for them to inflate the tires prior to shipping but I will tell you why. Because the tires don't hold air, so if they don't hold air they can blame it on the customer for over inflating them.- Instructions in areas tell you that you may have to add oil or grease to areas for the spool to function correctly. WRONG! When I buy a new product I shouldn't have to put grease or oil on anything that's new to make it work correctly.- If you have a contractor style hose with the spring on the end to stop the hose from kinking its difficult to impossible to get it through the spool and hooked up without kinking the hose. I had to buy a 2nd lead hose to use as a started so I could put my hose on the reel without it kinking.- This is currently sitting in the corner of my garage because I am afraid to even guess what's going to leak when I turn the water on to it. All in all the whole situation was about as convenient as herpes. I would send it back but I already have too much time and money involved assembling the thing to turn back now.

The wheels feel a bit flimsy. As many others mentioned, it rusts very easily. Any minor scratches in the finish will show rust within days. Keep a rust inhibitor (or touch up paint) handy and use it often if you want it to last several seasons!

very sturdy, 100 ft hose fits nicely on it with room for more hose and does not tip over when reeling in hose which was excellent in my book.

I've had this cart for 6 years now. I put it out in the spring and store it in the garage over winter and it's held up well. In the past, I've had plastic hose carts that have worn over time and never really worked as well as this cart so this is worthy of a positive review.Pros:-This cart rolls and maneuvers well with the large wheels. I find it easier to move than the models I've had with 4 small wheels.-It stays put pretty well when pulling hose off or putting it back on. When the reel is empty, I have to hold my foot on the cart for a bit to keep it in place while cranking the handle but, once some hose is loaded, it stays on its own.-I find the simplicity of the open reel on this cart more convenient than the carts that are more enclosed. My other cart requires you to thread the hose through a little handle that's supposed to help guide the hose onto the reel but it doesn't work very well so I don't use it and now it's just in the way.-The metal cart is solid after 6 years of use and the brass fittings have held up well.-The wire basket is nice to hold nozzles or other items when you're not using them.Cons:-The cart came with non-stainless nuts and bolts that I expected to rust over time so I replaced them with stainless when I assembled it. That added extra expense up front, but has proven to be a wise decision as everything is still holding up well.-The pneumatic tires go flat in storage. It's a minor inconvenience but it hasn't bothered me enough to replace them with solid wheels.-Over time, the crank handle will start to make awful screeching noises when you crank it but a little lubricant fixes it for a while.I paid a little under $125 for it in 2014, which I considered a bit of a gamble since hose carts usually don't last very long, and I'd say it's been a good investment.

I owned two plastic hose reels before purchasing this product. I have about 250 ft of hose and the plastic reels just wore out over time. I spent many hours fixing the plastic parts as they broke and I decided it would be cheaper to purchase a good product rather than multiple cheaper products that would just wear out. I am well aware that more expensive != better made or good value so I researched as much as I could and purchased this reel based on positive reviews and what appeared to be a quality design. I have been very satisifed with this hose reel. There are no leaks, it is so, so easy to wind the hose on and off, it is just solid.Possible concerns:Rust: Yes, this may rust where plastic will not. However, as others have mentioned you just need to maintain the paint job and keep the paint sealed to avoid rust. Even if it rusts, I am sure the plastic reels will break down before this unit rusts so much that it needs to be replaced.Fasteners did not come with washers, could damage the paint: this is a valid complaint but easily fixed (washers are cheap, easy to purchase)The hose connection is actually outside the reel: Yes, I was concerned about this when I purchased it. The easy solution I found was to connect the hose to the reel and wind it on the OUTSIDE of the drum for about 1/2 turn and then gently transition it to the inside (go through the spokes) and start winding on the drum. I made sure to use a gentle curve for the hose and attached it using zip ties. I am surprised that the company did not suggest this in the manual.
