These are excellent. Dumb me, however, I did not quite expect them to be as large and as heavy as they are (they are built accordingly, however!!). I use them with my ATV, and they work WELL!!! My opinion - I would try and wrangle around being able to use these while winching WHENEVER POSSIBLE, as they simply make the job SO much easier!! Highly recommend!!!! Great quality! Well built!

Look great with paint appearing to be a thick high gloss and durable. The picture is misleading though, since they did not come with the protective black inserts on the inside arch of the shackle. Not a deal breaker for me, though.

We pulled a large maple against it's lean to fell it. It wasn't a serious lean and a more experienced forester probably would have laughed at us but we had a permanent tree stand in the likely path of the tree falling. We anchored a pulley to a nearby tree down low using this shackle and a tow strap wrapped around the tree. We put a strap on the maple up as high as we could reach with a ladder. We then placed a rope puller on another tree closer to the maple that we were cutting. We created a big triangle. These shackles are great.Side note: I forgot one by the tree where we had the puller anchored. I happened to be driving past that tree on my ATV about a week later and I saw one of these shackles laying in the grass near the tree. If it hadn't been orange I probably wouldn't have seen it and I likely wouldn't have realized I was short one shackle until the next time I want to use them.

The quality is great. Color I chose was orange, it gives it a little pop since the Jeep is black! Easy to install. I’d purchase again!

I have a large diameter, braided tow strap which has a 75,000 pound tow rating. I needed large shackles like these to hook the strap eyelets to the frame of a vehicle needing towing. These shackles have a durable coat of paint. The threads work smoothly. I like the the rubber protection strip on the shackle. Comes with rubber washers. The diameter of the shackle and connecting shaft pin are of adequate thickness for my needs.

Product arrived in a timely manner securely packaged in an easy to access box, not in frustrating shrink-wrap. The shackles are almost too nice looking to use, in easy to see orange with a protective hard rubber sleeve in the bow. Rated for 28.5 tons, they are overkill for my intended usage as winch accessories for my Polaris Ranger. As the saying goes, I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
