This was an exact replacement, easy to install, works perfectly. Lost one star, as some other reviews stated, the ice maker comes in a plastic envelope, not a box. I am surprised it arrived without damage, this product should always be shipped in a box.

Perfect Fit for Kenmore Branded LG French Door refrigerator with lower freezer from 2011. The ice maker would regularly quit working after a year of ice build up, so we would have to defrost freezer than reset ice maker about once a year. After 11 years it would no longer reset so I did a search for the part number AEQ72909603 and found it was identical to AEQ72909601, or AEQ72909602. Professional installation takes two repairman visits that cost as much as $500 which is one hour labor for the diagnosis and part order and one hour labor for the installation of this part and the repair company's typically want about $250 for the part with tax and delivery then about $250-300 labor so buy this part for less than a hundred dollars and do it yourself like I did as it only takes two screws and one electrical plug to put in. If you use a mirror you don't have to remove freezer drawer just empty to top drawer and remove ice bucket and drawer tray. I order this part because it was $20 less expensive but any of the AEQ7290 parts will work that end in 9601, 9602 or 9603. This part took a week but there are some on Prime that only take a couple days for slightly higher cost. They all fit and appear identical but they my have subtle differences such as plastic color. My ice was a bit wet for the first 48 hours, but I adjusted the temperature up/down and broke the ice up that was sticking together until it began to come out perfectly. Saved a $500 repair bill or a new refrigerator replacement at even higher cost.

Hey! Don't be like me, who spent like a year making ice the old-fashioned way! You know, filling trays with water and placing them in the empty ice tray..like some kinda stone age chump. What a fool I was. I'm ashamed to say it, but one time we were having house guests and I knew I would need to make cocktails over the course of several evenings...so, I went to the store and purchased a bag of ice and stored it in the freezer. Look, I'm not proud of what I've done, but are any of us? Take a look at your glass house buddy, before you come knocking on my door. Especially if you come asking for ICE! So, I finally ordered this part for my Kenmore, Model #795.71609.010I have to say, it works great! The hardest part about putting this part in is that I basically had to disassemble the dang fridge to put it in. But that's not the part's fault! That's the fault of the French for designing the French Door Freezer, and then for Kenmore for making it and selling it to the builder who then put in in our house. There's a log of blame here but not for this wonderful ice maker.I finally have ice again. Thanks LG for still making parts that fit my Kenmore, and happy cocktail making!
