About this item

  • Dual LED guidelights add an extra element of safety when it's dark without losing valuable outlet space that would normally have a plugged in night light.
  • Continuously protects against electric shock & electrocution by interrupting power if a ground-fault is detected.
  • Required by the NEC for areas around the home within a close proximity to a water source (kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, basement, garage/carport, pool area).
  • Patented reset/lockout feature prevents reset if the GFCI is unable to respond to a ground-fault or if it isn't wired properly. Regularly conducts an automatic self-test to ensure safety.
  • LED indicator provides simple, intuitive feedback on power and protection status.

A Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) is an important safety device which helps protect people from electric shock and electrocution due to hazardous ground-faults. Ground-faults occur when a current flows along an unintended path, such as through water or a person. Our GFCI with dual LED guidelights provide automatic on/off lighting in the dark while eliminating the need to use an outlet for a plugged in night light. Light the way in kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and guest suites. Leviton GFCIs help protect people while meeting or exceeding National Electric Code® (NEC®) standards. No matter what your installation needs are, we have a GFCI that's right for you. Available options in the Leviton line include Standard, Weather-Resistant, Combo GFCI/USB, Combo GFCI/Switch, Guide Light, Audible Alert, Wi-Fi GFCI, Blank Face, Dual-Function AFCI/GFCI and GFCI Circuit Breakers.

I replaced an older gfi leviton outlet that didn't reset. This replacement was easy to install and works fine.NOTES:1. Make sure you shut off the correct breaker before replacing an old gfi outlet and installing this gfi outlet. This may be a 'duh' but needs mentioning. MAKE SURE THERE IS NO CURRENT GOING TO THE WIRES BEFORE WORKING ON THE OUTLET.2. The LINE and LOAD on this new gfi outlet were swapped from top to bottom compared to the old leviton gfi outlet that I had. So make sure you are connecting the correct wires to LINE and LOAD, especially if replacing an older gfi or even a gfi from another brand.3. This gfi outlet comes tripped from the factory. This means the led will be red after installing and turning the breaker on. After I pressed the RESET button on the gfi outlet the led turned green.

I bought some of these used on Amazon because they are expensive but there's a good reason not to order used: One of mine was missing screws and the copper wire plate used to pinch/grip the electrical wire. I'm not sure if I can replace that screw but I'm going to try and I know that I cannot replace the copper plate. Whoever owned it before me should never touch anything electric. They tried to force it into a tight outlet which scuffed it all up. What that should tell you is that these MIGHT NOT FIT into your outlets. If you can manage all of these accommodations for a slightly bigger outlet then you really should buy these. This will double up protection of your home from electrical fires. It will throw it's off switch in case of over current but also if there is an electric spark. It will also protect anything on the line out from it (read the manual for more on that). I will be buying more of these and the peace of mind is well worth the extra cost.

Before you install this outlet (assuming you’re doing it yourself), I highly recommend you search YouTube for this exact title:>>>>> “How to Install a GFCI Outlet, AFCI and Dual AFCI/GFCI Outlet | Leviton”Leviton produced a slick, informative, step-by-step, seven minute video that’ll make your work much easier and quicker.Leviton advises in the video that if you have more than 5 wires in a standard outlet box, then this 20 amp outlet might not fit for you (or else call an electrician). It’s a large outlet with a width of 1.69” and depth of 1.38”. I live in an older (1950s era) home, and it was a tight fit with four wires and two connectors. The outlet comes from the factory already tripped, meaning that after you install it and turn the power back on the outlet produces no power. You need to press the Reset button to turn on the power at the outlet. This will only work if you’ve correctly installed it. If you’ve correctly installed it, you’ll see a green indicator light.I purchased the brown-colored outlet. It is very dark brown. It fades nicely into my dark wood paneling (except for that very bright green light). The cover plate that I received with it has color-coordinated top and bottom screws. It’s not the screwless type of plate that was shown in the product photo on the day I purchased it.

Muy buenos. Es importante la seguridad de lsas personas y los equipos que funcionan con electricidad. Por ello, en toda instalación eléctrica residencial, industrial y comercial; debieran contener enchufes AFCI y GFCI.
