Had an old TV cable line going into my kitchen from the porch. Pulled it out. Ran some Romex. Put this on the outside and an outlet on the inside. Now I can plug my generator into it and get a live line in my kitchen without having to fish an extension cable into the house.

I used this as the connection point between our outside generator and three electrical outlets inside our cabin to provide power to our pellet stove, 2x lights, and phone chargers separate from our normal electrical wiring. It works great for the few times we need it.

This inlet port works great for a garden storage shed to provide temporaty lighting and outlet connection inside when you can't bury a power line to the location. With this setup, you just run a standard temporary extension cord and plug the female end into this port and the male end into a neqarby outdoor outlet to give you light and power inside the shed. Then remove the cord when finished.

Needed a reverse plug for the generator to power/charge my off-grid system during crappy weather. Works as intended, CSA compliant. No complaints.

I prefer a swinging cover, because it shields the power cable. The spring assembly for the cover is very heavy duty and fits tightly over the opening. A plug style cover may be preferable for motor homes or cases where there's high wind or shaking.Very simple to install. You'll need a 1 3/4" hole saw if doing a new installation.

As another reviewer mentioned, it is recommended to use a "deep" style weatherproof box for this device. It could potentially fit in a normal depth box but would be much more challenging to install and with potential to squish the wires behind it. Good build quality, screws are easy to insert wires into. One reviewer mentioned the screws being wound counterclockwise but I did not find this to be the case. It unscrewed and screwed as expected, as far as the wire terminals go. Mounted nice and flush to the box. Handy device, you aren't likely to find it at your local hardware store or electrical wholesaler.

Used as input power from a temporary generator located outside house. Delivered to my home within 48 hours. Great service. Straightforward to install. fit in a standard box. followed instructions for wiring and installation without any problem. At $50 + it is expensive but does the job. Thanks
