As soon as I receive the item, I pulled it out of the box and case tuned it and tried to fasten the screw on the mouth pipe only for it to snap after one turn

This horn arrived well packaged, plus the case that comes with it is a soft but well constructed case that should protect the horn well for many years. The valves and slides moved well fresh out of the case the first time. Unfortunately for me (am in my upper 80's w/COPD) the fluglehorn takes more air than the trumpet I've played most of my life. Plus, the mouthpiece is much deeper than any trumpet mouthpiece. I recall years ago messing around w/a french horn w/such a deep mouthpiece that I decided I could never get used to. Was not able to find such a horn to rent first, so appreciate Amazon taking the horn back for sale to a player more equipped to play it.

This is a really good student-model flugelhorn. Great for those who use a flugelhorn occasionally in a community band setting, and for amateur musicians who need an inexpensive flugelhorn. Serious or professional musicians will probably want to look at Yamaha flugelhorns, or other professional series horns. This horn would be a great gift for a high school musician curious about what flugelhorns can do. The case is small but workable.

When I first received this horn I was ecstatic about its sound and beautiful finish. However, the valves were mushy (the middle especially) so I was disappointed that I might have to return it. However, as I continue to play, clean, and re-oiled the valves, they seem to be coming around. I will keep working on it to see if they improve. I really hope so, because I do like the instrument. I'll update this review and let you know if I keep this Levante.

The price is good. The sound is good. Plays well. I'm not a professional, but this horn seems well-suited to my occasional needs.

I mostly play trumpet with relatively little need for a flugelhorn, although when I need it, I need it. I couldn't justify spending $3K for an instrument that I was rarely going to use, so this was a perfect alternative. It plays freely, it fills my periodic need, and it was unquestionably a lot of horn for the money.
