The adapter works fine with Canon EF and EFS lenses adapting to Canon R7 body. The tripod mount shoe is helpful for balancing telephoto lenses amounted on a tripod.

This adapter works on my EOS R exactly as advertised. I have a large EF and EF-S lens collection and all lenses work flawlessly.I concur with the other reviews for specifics. It’s a polished adapter and so it’s safe to use.

I used this on my R8 just fine.Connected right away, compared it to the Canon version...my canon version gave me a connection error at first...but after adjusting it worked fine. This version never gave me a connection issue, at least not yet.No problems after 7 uses.

Over time, we have invested a ton in EF lenses, so when we finally pulled the trigger on a mirrorless R10, we were happy to find adapters like this so we didn't have to sell/scrap our old lenses. This adapter worked great right out of the box, and the lost cost ($50 at review time) was a small price to pay when you consider we didn't have to replace a whole bag of older lenses.

The adapter seemed strong and well built. However, after working initially, the camera (Canon r50) started giving me error messages and refused to work with the adapter. So, I had to return it.

If you’re like me, and you have been shooting Canon cameras for years, you too probably have a robust collection of expensive EF mount lenses. Well, I love my 5D and 7D DSLR cameras, I recently decided to add a new R5 Mark II to my collection. However, because the R5 body utilizes a new RF type lens mount, none of my older EF lenses will fit it.Enter my new ALTSON EF to EOS R lens adapter…This simple device seamlessly couples all of my EF lenses to my new R5 camera without missing a beat. Simply mount this adapter to any RF camera, body and then attach any EF lens directly to the adapter. Not being a video photographer, I cannot speak to how well this adapter will work for videos, but I tested it extensively by shooting a good number of stills with several different EF lenses mounted to it and I could not detect any difference in image quality or performance as compared to using these lenses directly on either of my DSLR camera bodies. Therefore, I would guess that there shouldn’t be any issues shooting videos, but at this time I have not yet confirmed this.In testing this adapter, I was able to confirm full control of my EF lenses, including Autofocus, Aperture, Image Stabilization and EXIF Signal Transmission which allows everything to be displayed on the cameras LCD screen correctly. This device seems sturdy while being lightweight so it doesn’t add much additional weight burden to my set up. Unlike other adapters I considered, this one adds a handy removable quarter inch mount, which allows better balance when attaching my rig to a tripod. If you have a number of Canon EF lenses and you’re considering upgrading to a Canon mirrorless camera body, and this adapter is a great way to avoid having to replace your expensive lenses.

This adaptor was perfect for my needs. If you have a mirrorless R camera and want to use your old EF mount lenses without breaking the bank on Canon’s adaptor, this is the way to go. Put my Sigma Art lens on the adaptor and I was off to the races. You will get slightly more focal length out of it, which you should have already expected — your mileage will vary. But it’s basically like adding a tube extender, except that you retain all your autofocus functions as usual. A lot of adaptors will make you lose that, and you’re stuck with manual focus only. So this is really a nice deal. No errors, no problems. Does what you expect and is a good value for the money. 5/5 stars for a great 3rd party product.

I’m actually quite surprised and impressed. How great of Bill quality this is. I was not expecting it to fill and be this premium. I would say it’s almost better than the canon version. It has some weight to it, but not too much where it’s dreading most of the weight comes from the tripod mount which you can remove easily with the screw. I’m not into the tripod mount because I hardly ever use tripods so I will probably take it off and leave it off, but this is really great for someone that will utilize this future. It has a great grip filled to it can explain it, but you can kind of see the pattern in the photos. Auto focus is solid and it recognize the lens I attached to my camera. I use this with my canon R8 and it worked phenomenal. I am just pretty impressed. How well this work to be in a third-party and a brand I’ve never heard of. I highly recommend this over canons. If I would’ve known how great this one is, I would not have overpaid by going with Canons version.
