Was thinking no one was making these anymore. These are made so well, they should last for years.

Simple part. I just needed a strain relief to secure the replacement power cord on my 70 year old Shopsmith. The previous relief only lasted 55 years, before deteriorating and making the tool dangerous enough that I just put the tool away for 15 years. While I had to enlarge the hole to accommodate this one, it holds the cable much more securely and looks like it will be solid for the next 70. I’ll update this review in 2094. Stay tuned.

I purchased this strain relief to go on a power box I'm building for live entertainment/festival stages. I'm not using a basic thin quad box though; I'm going for fully water-proof or at least weather resistant and super strong/resistant to dings, dents and damage. The box I tried to install one of these into is a TayMac TB750S 3-Gang Weatherproof Box. 3-gang because I have additional power monitoring electronics going in with the plugs. It screws nicely into the bottom of the box; however, it does not come all the way through the hole in order to connect the nut on the other side! This gland (and most I see advertised with a basic search) look like they are made for really thin metal (what most use for quad boxes) as opposed to outdoor-rated boxes. I want both the water seal AND the strain relief, so I'll keep searching for the perfect solution.

Was glad to find one of these strain reliefs large enough to fit the cable I have. Would have been helpful to have instructions for installation, but it seemed to work out OK. Have not put to heavy use, but it appears to be a solid, durable device for my application on a very heavy duty, large diameter power cord.

I looked for a week in hardware, home stores, electrical suppliers and online to find something to replace the plastic thingee on my roaster because the cord had become frayed. I learned they are called stress relief, and when I found these they did relieve my stress, because I didn’t have to replace an otherwise perfectly good roaster. They are firm, semi-hard plastic which held up well to five hours of turkey-roasting on Thanksgiving. Easy to install. The diagram did not show the size of the part that fits through the hole, though, so I had to guess, but it was right. They do protrude a couple inches, and only bend slightly (offering ample stress relief!). I only wish I could buy just a couple, because now I have nine extras. On the upside, I have a lifetime supply of stress relief.(Photos show before and after installation)
