If you want to make just a few pieces less than 6 this is a great product to have. I use frequently since it is just two of us so when making bacon and eggs, BLT sandwiches, wedge salads, etc. I use my Lekue bacon maker and no longer have grease splatter or house smelling like bacon.. It is so easy to use and so easy to clean up.

While visiting my friend, she was able to make bacon with out all the fuss and mess of using the stove. I found this and decided to give it a try. It is smaller than the one my friend had, but I am one person so it is adequate for my use. It is so easy to use, and goes into the dishwasher for easy cleanup. I easily cooks four pieces of bacon in less time that it would take me to heat up a pan on the stove.

I fully admit I am a food nerd. I am extremely picky when it comes to kitchen gadgets and even more so kitchen appliances. I never expected to love this thing so much, but I do. I normally associate all things with this brand as being platinum grade silicone microwave cooking vessels because I worked for a high end kitchen supply store for a part time second job and they made you study the brand before you could sell it to any of the shoppers. So I already came into this purchase with a positive based biased essay. But unboxing it and getting to hold it in my hands I noticed that it was made from plastic. Which really disappointed me since I've only used their silicone products until this purchase. I was skeptical that anything plastic was capable of cooking and producing anything but a subpar end result. However, I was sorely mistaken. My pre-teen child can eat a package of bacon by himself in one sitting. He's become the bacon efficianodo of our household. He was so excited when this arrived. Then when we finally used it, the instructions were clear, easy to follow, and the cooking times were actually spot on for our microwave. It produce a perfectly crisp bacon because all the bacon fat settles into the bottom of the v-shaped ridges keeping it far away from your delectable bacon. This thing takes cooking bacon from being a chore to becoming a pleasure. It frees you up from having to hover over that pan so you're free to work on cooking something else, or to get to work on something else, like enjoying your cup of coffee! This was one of the best things I have bought in a long time. Give it a try, because it's totally worth every penny, especially if there's at least 1 bacon lover living in your home!

Very happy with this particular item. It's been really easy to clean with hot water before it cools off entirely. (Let me tell you, that's a life saver.) I always pour out any extra grease so it doesn't clog my sinks. The cover does its job. And the flat sides/handles are really helpful. My mom use to burn herself with this type of thing all the time.Finding out the right times to cook the bacon is the hardest part. And I cook a lot of pre-cooked bacon (it's just faster & easier for me). I bought this because I actually broke a nice plate trying to get crispy bacon this way--oops. Definitely think it's worth the cost. It's a little on the small size, but long pieces of bacon crinkle up to fit as they cook, so just wrinkle them like ribbon and don't shove more than 6 pieces total in at a time.Overall, I'd say, read the directions 1st. Try them as is, and then make adjustments for your own microwave, slice thickness, etc. And if you're only doing 3 or 4 pieces... make triangles & squares like it says to. You get evenly cooked bacon that way.

Dieses Produkt ist empfehlenswert. So einfach geht Speck "machen" ... Unser Sohn liebt den Frühstücksbacon, aber immer die Pfanne rauszuholen, danach auch noch abwaschen zu müssen und den Aufwand zu betreiben, ... hier kam dieses Produkt gerade recht - so riecht es nicht so stark und der Aufwand ist sehr gering. Der Bacon schmeckt genauso gut und das perfekte Geschenk. Sehr empfehlenswert.

I bought this for a client in a home I work in. He was cooking bacon with a dollar store microwave-safe container (cheap product) in the communal microwave, and it was a nightmare. The tray leaked, it was a mess and the whole dining room smelled of bacon grease. You couldn't even use the microwave after because whatever you cooked would taste and smell of bacon. When I told him this wasn't acceptable, I also informed him that I sourced this product, and it looked promising. He enthusiastically gave me the thumbs up to buy it, and a few days later, he was using it and raving about how well it worked, "I could cook eggs in this if I want or buffalo wing flavoured fish cakes (Eeeeyewww!) and it works great! So he's happy; the situation is manageable now, so I and his co-tenants are happy. So basically peace in a home for $32 and change. Well worth the price! And they really did live happily ever after ;)

Overall worked well and bacon came out crispy. Grease is grease so cleaning this is as expected, can be messy but you deal.There is one issue with this design, even with the lid secure and in proper placement, grease still splatters everywhere as it cooks. The vents on two sides do not prevent the grease from spurting out. Microwave gets covered in grease from this and you will need to clean microwave after every use. I did debate return because of this.Minor note, lid not clear as photo shows. Definitely frosted.

I have hesitated for years about buying one of these bacon cookers, but this is a no-brainer. It is BPA free and should be washed before being cleaned in the washing machine. It does take out the grease very well. I use ‘center’ cut bacon as the size fits better. Regular cut bacon is a few inches too long, but you could cut them in half. I have found that one minute per slice in the microwave will give me very crispy bacon. If I want it less crispy, I’ll drop it to 30-45 seconds per slice. You have to experiment. The pan will easily fit five pieces of center cut bacon. Two pieces of durable plastic and easy to clean. Plus, your bacon is done perfectly without splatters or super greasy cleaning.

I bought the Lekue Microwave Bacon cooker with the low lid. It seems to be regular hard plastic with a flimsy lid, rather than the high quality silicone one is used to getting in Lekue products. Yes, it really does cook about 6 pieces of bacon really well. It is a bit short so you may have to sort of curl them up or push them a bit into the ridges so the strips will fit. But if you use it for about 2 to 3 minutes, and then cook for one minute increments or just thirty second increments after the initial period of cooking until you get the doneness you desire, it works great. After a couple of times, you get an idea of how long you need for your particular microwave and your taste. I do like the ease of cooking with it. My issue, though, is with the lid. The lid does not fit on quite right. It just doesn't set into the top well. In addition, there are spaces which allow an extreme amount of spattering grease to get all over your microwave. So, it does cook well and easily. But you are going to have to clean not only the cooker itself, but your microwave. The lid not fitting and the spattering is bad enough that I am going to return this one and try the model with the higher lid. Maybe that lid is better. We'll see!
