These did not work for me. We still ended up with a lot of white dust in our home. However, my plants seem to like the water more when I kept one of these in their watering jug.

This is my second order of these. We live in a very dry climate in winter and use our humidifiers all day. These definitely keep them from getting scum and bacteria from growing. So easy to just pop in every month and keep the air more moist.

They are convenient and do work. My humidifiers are 3.5 and 5 liters and I run them almost continuously during the Wisconsin winter with the heat running constantly. I put 2 in each. Initially, it kept down the mold and the white powder residue. But, it didn't last a month. I need to change them every 2 weeks. My other option would be to try using 4 in each humidifier and see if that lasts a month. Cost wise, a 12 item order only lasts 3 months per humidifier, which is $6.50 a month. The liquid bacterial/mold chemical is more cost effective but not as convenient, so I will continue to use these.

Very pleased with item. Very effective. Put two cartridges in humidifier tank and it has remained clean with no noticeable white dust that others have mentioned. Would purchase again.

We have used these small demineralization cleaning balls for 2 winters and are extremely pleased with how well they work. We do put in 2 new balls each month (when we change the filter) and we have never had any type of mineral buildup, bacteria or mold at all! The balls come individually wrapped in a very small box and have been ideal for our purposes. I recommend this product.

Used as directed but mold, slime and white dust was still an issue. Then tried using 50% more of the packets with no change - slime accumulated within 24 hours of humidifier use which is a brand new unit. Bought liquid silver treatment and mold, slime are almost nonexistent. White dust is now minimal too.

We have very hard water and I bought these on a whim because we run two, two gallon humidifiers in separate rooms in our home all winter. These drop ins really do prevent lime and scale build up in the tanks and the water reservoir. There is also a huge reduction in the build up of white dust on surfaces close to the units. There is no odor when I am cleaning the tanks and the units stay cleaner using the drop ins. One drop in lasts a month so great value for the money!
