This is great for inside use, I don't think the light is bright enough for outdoor use. It was a bit smaller than I expected. It is well made & lasts though. Great price too.

Emergency, automatic lights have come a long way from the old boxy design with giant flood lights and car batteries. This one has some nice features and is of a good size and design. I really like the fact that it can use either 120v or 277v as the main power point. It is small in physical size, but provides a good amount of illumination when activated.Look, power failures happen and it is nice to have something like this just sitting on the top of the wall, being ignored until such time that you need it. We are in our 70s and live in a very rural area. We have power outages and while we have our home set up to have backup, 12v lights, we still have to locate the 12 volt switches to turn them on. Emergency lighting, such as this, is the safe and secure answer. You’ll get about 75 to 90 minutes worth of use in a power failure, which is plenty of time to get something more substantial running, like a generator maybe.5 stars for size, flexibility, design and usability. Also, while these are normally permanently mounted, you can also set these up to use a cord and plug (120v), so it could mount almost anywhere that has a permanent “on” power source.Note: I have been an Amazon customer for almost 20 years. I write all of my reviews to reflect my personal observations and opinions on a product. It matters not if I have purchased the item myself or if it was provided to me for review. My goal is to provide other potential customers as much real-world knowledge as possible to make an informed decision. In most cases I will return to my review in 6 months or less to see if I should alter my original observations. In no case will the cost of a product influence my opinions at all. In addition, I will try to include multiple images and or videos on each product, if practical.

Bought two. One had loose battery as the retaining clip inside was broken upon delivery. The second one I broke the clips holding the back, and because the light is clipped onto the back, now it is useless. Otherwise these are smallest of my three other emergency lights, look nice and give off just about the same amount of light. Really wanted to like them.

I've wanted to install permanent emergency lights in our basement and garage for years. I can say after a recent power outage during a storm that this item works great. We were away from the house during the storm and I had a camera in the basement so we could monitor the sump pump. While the camera has night vision, it really doesn't work that well. This light provided plenty of light for the camera to capture the details and, fortunately, to let us see that the sump pump was working fine. The only issue I had is when the box arrived, one of the light heads had popped off during shipment. It was actually quite tricky to get the light head back on, and I felt at times that i was going to break something.
