These were great and easy to read for young students and simple experiments. They are attached to a plastic backing, so be sure to note the maximum temp they can be used it. Also, these were not very accurate, but were great for our purposes which were learning to use a thermometer and measuring temperature changes.

Out of the package of 10, 3 of the thermometers are 6 degrees higher than the others. I've tried putting them in a freezer and in different rooms to get them to work, but no luck. They are consistently 6 degrees too warm. I needed these for a class STEM project. If they all worked, I'd give it 5 stars.

They are cheap enough but they are not accurate, needed them for my sons science experiment we found 4 of the 10 to read the same others are as much as 4deg C out.

Okay basic thermometer but the temperature reading is not consistent between thermometers and not necessarily accurate.

Inexpensive and fun for kids and others...I have given them to kids and have them stuck around my house to check the temperature...good buy! The kids love them and try sun/shade/one even put her thermometer in water (waterproof!)...these would be fun little educational treats for birthday parties or stocking stuffers...good buy for a fun non-toy toy!

Used these to monitor how our heat and A/C were performing in our home. We put them around the house in different rooms so we could see whether warm and cool air were reaching all areas of our home and where changes might need to be made in our HVAC system. They're inexpensive and would be perfect for school projects also.

Whether these thermometers are ideal for classroom use is doubtful. The cardboard backing is merely stiff paper, and the received calibration is rudimentary - my set had a 6K difference between the max and min readings. However, I bought them for a serious purpose and found it quite easy, for an adult, to loosen the straps that attach the glass to the calibrated paper and slide the easily read liquid columns to the same reading. I then attached the top of the tubes to the paper with rubber cement. The result is a set of inexpensive, light weight sensors capable of providing comparative readings +/-0.5K in an experimental forced air passive solar assisted residential building. I'm very pleased with the product for adult use in a benign environment.

Good and Cheap, but they break easily.

These thermometers do not succeed at telling the temperature -- so they are of no use. There were 10 of them (I sent them back), and they read 10 different temperatures. The spread was 20 degrees at room temperature. I attached Post-It notes to each of them and marked the reading "84," as it was 84 degrees in the dining room at that moment. My plan was to calibrate them myself and use them. However, the next morning, when the temperature in the dining room was 72 degrees, some of them were still at the 84 degree mark, some were lower. Several were lower by the same amount -- but not a lot of them. So, it's not that the tube is stapled to the card in the wrong place. There is no right place because the measuring mechanism itself doesn't work.

While I have not thoroughly tested the entire box of thermometers, I believe these will do what I need them to do. Give a basic temperature reading for basic grammar-stage science experiments. I was very happy with the packaging and presentation. They are flimsy, but again, an affordable price for basic science experiments.
