Very good, my 7 year old has loads of these games and has been pleased with them all- this one didn't disappoint either.

My daughter has many of these games, but i was highly impressed with this one, especially for the unbeatable price! She will definitely learn a lot from this game. I highly recommend!

This is a great game to help with phonics and reading and spelling also. My 4 year old spells and writes her name independently and can identify all the letters and their sounds as well as write them. I wanted an educational game that would help her further her skills and actually begin learning to spell more words. Within days of playing this, that is what happened!

Others (adults who have actually played the "games") have already spelled out in detail the many flaws in this product--the entire Leapster Explorer GS. I don't know whether or not the other Leapsters are any better, but this one is a total waste of money. . I will only add that my 4-year-old grandson, in Pre-K, found it so boring and lame that even with my patient guidance and cheering him on, he begged to stop playing with it and went back to his other toys. Another very annoying aspect of the activities on all these game cards is that the commands are all over the place, icon-wise. You never know how you will next proceed. One time you might need to touch a curved arrow, another time a square with flashing edges, yet another time you strike the X, or maybe a character's tiny head...no consistency whatsoever in how to proceed. And the silliness of the narrators, with their hip, glib remarks--very annoying. In one place, a word was spelled incorrectly. And the narrators spoke far too long. My grandson wanted to get on with ,playing, but had to wait for too long a dialogue before he could proceed. Just too much busy-work and not much fun content or teaching. What's with the "Great! You have just earned your first (whatever)"? Just an icon that pops up, that you have "earned" The stylus does not work well, even when re-calibrated. Far too much busy-work and very little real fun or content in the whole system. I think it is too difficult for a four-year-old to manipulate alone, with the various ways to proceed,, yet when he gets older and can finally figure out whether to look for a curved arrow? flashing square? or whatever,, by then he will be even more bored than he is now by the actions in the games. What fun is there in, zapping balloons, "Shredding" paper, etc., over and over? Maybe a bit of fun the first time around when learning, but nothing one would enjoy doing again. It's all a stroke of the stylus and not much happening of interest. Bad, bad, bad toy and very disappointing to my grandson, who was so excited initially to open it and play with it. Bummer.

My son is obsessed with video games and I usually can not stand them. But I can never complain when he wants to play his LeapPad because he learns so much! when he started playing he barely recognized any letters but now he is reading very well. I don't believe you should rely solely on tech to teach your kids but in such a techno-centric society sometimes a child can learn with supplements like Leap games.

This is a really good Pre-K program for the LeapPad. My daughter loves it, and plays it often. If you connect the leappad and use yiour computer, you can also nudge the lessons to be a little harder if you want them to be, with either LeapSchool cartridge (math or reading). I recommend this for a 3 or 4 year old!

I purchased this for my G-son's b-day, because I thought it would help him w/his reading, but it seems he didn't need help in this area because he blew through the whole game in like a day.. I don't know how long the game was, but it seems as though it was a bit to easy for him.. Maybe LeapFrog can make another version that is a step up from the original and be a bit more challenging.

Like they this is educational. We have several games but this one she keeps coming back too. Her little brothers age 4 find it bit to challenging.

My 4-year-old granddaughter wouldn't put it down. This is perfect for her to explore modern technology and grow accustomed to it. It is sometimes difficult to see one's grandchildren becoming so technology-literate, but she also loves books (real ones)--flipping through the real pages and making up her own stories after a book has been read to her. But LeapFrog Reading Game is also helping her, on her own, to put letters together to make words. It is very exciting, not only to see her put letters together, but to see her enjoying the process on the tablet.

My 5-year-old grandson loves the Explorer games! And I love buying educational items to spur on his learning. And Amazon is a great place to shop . . . . soon I will need a separate budget for my Amazon spending!
