The pot is sized very well for bullet and fishing mold making. It heats up fairly quickly and is just the right size to handle easily and get all the lead into the ladle for pouring.This pot is a great addition to the garage. Been making my own sinkers with it and saving a ton of money.
As a hint it will work faster if you leave about 1/3 still melted still in it before adding more lead to melt.
Easy to use
Heats up quickly and you can pour straight from pot. Easy pour spouts help pouring hot lead carefully.It doesn't run down the side first or anything like that.
Easy to work
Will sit on it's base well without worrying about it tipping. Melts fast and keeps steady temp for casting a clean cast!
Use with caution
Easy to use just be careful not to get burned because it all gets hot except for the handle. It won't hold a lot of material in it. It is a keeper for the small jobs you do.

It is a disappointment, I intended to melt some lead to make sinkers. It took more than half hours to melt just enough lead for a 6 oz sinker.

These tire weights have been in the unit on its highest setting for @ least 30 min and very little melting

It works for melting lead to make my fishing weights. I gave it 4 stars because you have to turn the heat all the way up to melt the lead. You shouldn't have to, I think the labeled temperatures are wrong.

update:smoked like the instructions said, sides started glow from heat. then died!Handle said was still getting power but the cup kept getting cooler then nothing :(had possability. but probably better to find something else.Update: found an adapter I could unscrew & see what was happening with the pins.seem to be getting stuck, loosen the recieving clips & now works :)did research, knew I would need a multi adapter that does a/b/g. but wont go in.Might butcher the plug & see if I can still get it to work.

I purchased this for my husband’s birthday as he loves to fish as a hobby. He uses it to melt old fishhooks and create new ones. It’s very easy to use and comes with clear safety instructions so that my 7yo doesn’t burn himself. I make earrings and am accustom to pounding designs into my metals and when I make a mistake, I try to repurpose or throw it to scraps. My 7yo was rummaging through my scraps and melting them using this device. He created something beautiful mixing the metals! I now sell these beautiful pieces made from melting medals with this device. I can’t tell you how easy it is to use. I highly recommend this for jewelry makers like me!
