About this item

  • For detecting NPN and PNP transistor, capacitor, resistor, diode, triode, N-channel and P-channel MOSFET, IGBT, JFET, triac and battery, resistor and capacitor and other components, etc.
  • Put the pins of component in corresponding area, then dial the little handle and the detector will test it automatically, finally the results will display on the back light TFT screen clearly. ( Use 12864 liquid crystal display with green backlight).
  • Measurement results represent by TFT graphic display(160x128). Support Chinese and English.
  • After detection, align the infrared remote control with the "IR" light, then press the button in the remote control, if the detector successfully decode it, it will display the data code and infrared wave form.
  • One button operation, automatically detect and shutdown, and you can also press the multi-functional button to close the detector.

This is a little gem and extremely useful in electronics repair. It seems to be accurate and very helpful in identifying transistors. It is easy to use. I did not get a manual, but found one on the internet.

Can I choose something less than one star? Don’t bother buying this item. First one would not power up after a charge. The replacement powered up with a blank screen. The only positive is that I was able to return both. Chinese junk.

The self charging battery is a big plus. No more having to take one of these TLRC's apart to simply install a battery. There are no instructions with the one I got. But a search of the internet and YouTube provided the needed info on how to calibrate and use it.Ideal for checking electronic parts before installing them. Recently found to capacitors rated at 100nF to actually be 60nF. Crossed checked with another more expensive LRC testing device and got the same reading. Definitely handy and easy to use.

I had no idea these devices existed until recently, having just started getting into board level repairs to try and expand my little repair business. After enough research to know I didn't want to spend $100 on "the good one" right now, I then narrowed them down through the arduous task of deciding which one I liked the look of better. This one reminded me of a game boy, so I went with it.So far it's been 100% accurate with what I've plugged into it, although I'll admit I don't have a whole lot to test with it yet. I'm sure I will soon enough and will definitely update this review if it gives me any issues, but so far it's been a really cool tool to have on the workbench.

This is the second one of this general type of device (AVR Transistor (Component) Tester) that I've purchased (the first was just a PC board with a dangling 9 V battery). This one works well. I've tried all the features. Component identification works well. The Zener diode testing works up to at least 10 V (the claim is that they work up to 30 V, but I don't have any Zeners with voltage ratings above 10 V). The IR remote feature decodes some newer remotes I have and indicated IR illumination but doesn't decode my older remotes.

This is a nice, handy unit for the home hobbyist. Functionally it handles the devices I need to test. When used in conjunction with an EPROM programmer/IC tester, it makes for a great, portable toolset.Accuracy is more than adequate to identify and verify if a component is working, confirm cathode/anode, and identify transistor types for unmarked units.Wish I had bought this sooner as it will make things easier than having to sometimes use a multimeter or a quick breadboard setup to measure devices.

This works well for sorting components and is reasonably accurate, with an easily readable display and standard ZIF socket, which should last a while. The only issue is with the single button, sometimes the unit will retest, and sometimes it will turn off. It seems like a press-and-hold function that is much too sensitive. Pressing the button again turns the unit back on and tests, so it's not a big deal.
