They work very good. They are very strong. Sometimes they might even scare you if you’re standing too close and they pop up, but they definitely set the hook and make it easy to catch the fish without even being there to monitor the pole

This is a strong device that is scary to set, like a giant mouse trap. It only really triggers when a strong bite hits. Then you have to worry about it ripping the jaw off the fish. Would be great for fishing on an ocean beach, not for lake or river fishing.

Great idea but I feel like it could of been a little better designed. It does trigger however I have yet to get a hook to set on it I feel as if the trigger could be a bit more sensitive

Works great for just a rod holder but will not set a hook, just tried it at a lake 2 weeks ago and it never worked once, I caught quite a few fish but not using this product. I even let the fish pull on it several times just to see if it would set a hook but it never did.

Using these self setting pole holders I’m at 450 plus fish caught in the last 4 years only using these holders. The first three trout I caught I never seen it go off. But I didn’t lose a fish. 👍🏽 I make the stands for the self setting pole holders safer to use and easy at this height.

Hard to use .. hard to close the red rubber .. doesn't hold the fishing rod well
